i am in ece branch which is indeed best branch in the campus as it is the only branch which provides core sector jobs and it sector which are of high value but yes it is quite difficult course to do. exams are also difficult here sometimes

6 th semester onwards students are eligible i think , many companies visit our campus like google, amazon, nvidia, microsoft. avaerage package is 8-10 lac. 70-90% is palcement rate depending on branch and students not getting placements try off campus placements

yes, about fees it is no problem you get many loan schemes on education and fees waiver for categories and also the many scholarships based on your merit and categories. so money is never the problem as financial help is always there

Campus Life

yes, about campus life then it is indeed very good but dont have many canteens with good quality and proper maintainance. library is quite good as the material you require is always available but sometimes it is limited.classrooms are well equiped with ac but not all ac works and projectors are always there in classrooms but they dont work properly and it is not maintainend. sports facilities are just fine but we dont have any coaches here. no proper equipments from college and courts are not maintained. about college life, yes i have many great memories which are unforgettable

Hostel Facilities

hostels are poor for first year as it is a room for 3 students but 4 are living in that room so its quite messy as boys are known for living wildly. and hostel facilities are not that good and timings are till 10pm only. as for second year they go mega boys hostel and rooms are small for 2 people to live and one table 2 beds are available in there. and mess is very poor. 1st year mess food is still somehow tolerable but after 1st year it gets more poor. and its fees is 25000.

Admission

i got my admission through jee mains in nit jalndhar, anyone can make it here if you study well and i got here with 1.5 crl rank and i avail reservation and yes it was a little easy for me to get admission than other categories and yes its so benefits for availing reservation

Faculty

well, about faculty then i must say teachers are all very qualified but then somehow it makes difficult for student to understand if teacher doesnt have teaching skills as many teachers are studied from the nits, iits only and each student can interact with teacher as they need.

Life at CGC Landran

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

NIT Jalandhar offers better infrastructure, facility expertise and peer environment compared to other options I had while I got confirmed admissions from uiet Hoshiarpur and nit Jalandhar my preference for a national level campus experience and comprehensive curriculum lead me here. I got 28102 rank in jee mains and 24576 rank in jee advanced My primary goal was to get into any iit but I can't get due to my rank if I would have got any iit o would have chosen it over In josaa counselling I got iiit bhopal cse which was quite a good option because bhopal is not so distant from home and also has good placement but it has many problems like no permanent campus and hostels etc and very high fees which I can't afford So in next round I got nit jalandhar ice over it because it is a cirtcutal branch enough options in tech and core both morover it comes with a nit tag and less fees and I want clg in north...Read More
