Course Curriculum Overview

4

I took this course because of rising IT industry. The syllabus of course is very filtered and job oriented but level of concepts do not match industrial levels. Exam are quite easy can be passed by studying for 10 to 15 days. More practical knowledge and industry visit with experience can help to improve this course credibility.

Fees and Financial Aid

My college come under Delhi University and the overall fee for 3 years program is just 85000 rs. Which is 26000 rs. every year. Financial assistance is provided by college to all resvered students on caste and economic basis but not basis of excellence. But there several other scholarship programs provided by the DU. No stipends awarded niether support for campus placement.

Campus Life

2.5

Extra Curricular activities are promoted but not very actively and fest , departmental fest and parties are organised at a very low level. College fest name : Srijan Departmental Fest name : Techmenia Library is good with a huge collection of books and it is a 3 storey building. Sports ground is good but for issuing equipment is a headache. There some society and groups that are run by students themselves but a very low level. Overall campus life is decent.

Admission

For entering my college you need to pass CUET test and then apply for DU College. Cutoff for my course would be 600 out of 800. The subject necessary are Physics, Chemistry , Maths , Language and General Test in cuet and PCM IN 12th. NTA website provide complete info about cuet and reservation availed.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty to students ratio is above average and availability of teachers is quite decent. Teacher are available but quite busy with official work. Teacher interaction is good they do not misbehave or humiliate students but their teaching methods are questionable because of so much jargels in their methods students usually do get to grasp the concept and turn to YouTube for better understanding of concepts.

Indira Gandhi National Open University - [IGNOU], Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Mathematics)
Reviewed on Sep 5, 2025(Enrolled 2024)

Placement Experience:

Placements in IGNOU are quite limited compared to regular universities. Since IGNOU is an open and distance learning university, it does not have a strong campus placement system like DU or private colleges. There is a Campus Placement Cell (CPC) that conducts job fairs and recruitment drives at some regional centers, but these are not very frequent and mostly depend on the location. Usually, students who are in their final year or have completed the course can apply, but there is no fixed semester rule since the system is flexible. The companies that visit are not very large in number and vary every year. Some private firms, NGOs, BPOs, insurance companies, and small IT firms have participated in the past. The roles are generally entry-level such as sales, customer support, data entry, insurance advisor, or junior IT support. There are very limited opportunities for core mathematics or research roles through placements. As far as packages are concerned, the average package is usually around ?2.5 LPA to ?4 LPA, but since IGNOU is an open university, it cannot be expected to have the same placement levels as regular colleges with full-time classes. Also, the percentage of students placed is very small because most IGNOU students are either working professionals, homemakers, or people preparing for competitive exams, so placements are not the main focus. Many students use the degree as a qualification while pursuing their own career path outside. I am currently in my 2nd year, so I do not have personal placement experience yet. The data I have mentioned here is based on internet sources and feedback from other IGNOU students. From what I have learned, placements exist but are very limited, and one should not rely only on them for career building.
