Course Curriculum Overview

5

My course Polymer Science is a highly specialised course in field of organic chemistry. It involves in depth knowledge of all the macro molecules present around us which are very important for our daily use and are used everywhere around the wolrd.

Internships Opportunities

4

Internships are provided in all the courses in the college in the summer breaks which can range from 2-3 months in the june-august months. Only selected students with good grades are allowed to go for internships . In my department big company like Uflex are providing internship this year.

Placement Experience

3

Students go for placement after their 3 year or while their 6 semester in the college. Students usually don't opt for a job as bachelor's is just the start of mastering your field and opt for higher studies instead. But the campus placement this year 2025 my department the highest package given was 3.5 lpa and average of 2 lpa

Fees and Financial Aid

For studying B.Sc. Hons Polymer Science in Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences and studying the 4 year program the initial fee for 1yr is 24,000 (Unreserved) which decreases along the course of 3 years. For 2 yr the fee is 16,500 and for 3 year is 10,000. Year 4 students are yet to appear from 2025 so few structure would be explained in some time. For the EWS category the fee comes down to 10,000 only from 1 year onwards which reduces further. Any further fee required is only for the examination fee which can range from 1600-2200.

Campus Life

5

The social aspect of the college is great as there are many clubs present in the college for students to get into and enjoy their hobbies.they get to meet new people and also get the chance to show their passion and talents. The annual fest of our college is called Srijan and highly celebrated every year. The sports aspect of our college is also really great with all sports equipment available and courts available. We a have a huge cricket cum football ground, a volleyball court, basketball court, badminton courts and also indoor sports available

Admission

I chose this college as organic chemistry was my strong point and polymer science was only available in this college out of all the colleges in Delhi University. Other colleges I applied to were for btech which I wasn't wasn't really interested in studying because of non chemistry topics. I got accepted into all private colleges I applied to and also got another DU college deshbandu which I rejected because of non interest in course

Faculty

4

Faculty members of the college are really good natured and would be ready to help you out. My course is a specialised course which is only available in this college out of all 90+ colleges in DU.my faculty is very specialised in their field and have really good qualifications. The course structure follows a 2+2 credit system which is 2 credits for theory and 2 credits for practical component

Night Life

4

The favourite hangout place after college is the Vardhaman Complex present just behind the college which has many cafes and all necessary shops for stationary and medical purposes. Campus timings are 8am to 5pm sharp . Students aren't allowed after 5 pm inside campus except event days. The locality is really safe to roam around at night or evenings and very beautiful too

Indira Gandhi National Open University - [IGNOU], Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Mathematics)

Placement Experience:

Placements in IGNOU are quite limited compared to regular universities. Since IGNOU is an open and distance learning university, it does not have a strong campus placement system like DU or private colleges. There is a Campus Placement Cell (CPC) that conducts job fairs and recruitment drives at some regional centers, but these are not very frequent and mostly depend on the location. Usually, students who are in their final year or have completed the course can apply, but there is no fixed semester rule since the system is flexible. The companies that visit are not very large in number and vary every year. Some private firms, NGOs, BPOs, insurance companies, and small IT firms have participated in the past. The roles are generally entry-level such as sales, customer support, data entry, insurance advisor, or junior IT support. There are very limited opportunities for core mathematics or research roles through placements. As far as packages are concerned, the average package is usually around ?2.5 LPA to ?4 LPA, but since IGNOU is an open university, it cannot be expected to have the same placement levels as regular colleges with full-time classes. Also, the percentage of students placed is very small because most IGNOU students are either working professionals, homemakers, or people preparing for competitive exams, so placements are not the main focus. Many students use the degree as a qualification while pursuing their own career path outside. I am currently in my 2nd year, so I do not have personal placement experience yet. The data I have mentioned here is based on internet sources and feedback from other IGNOU students. From what I have learned, placements exist but are very limited, and one should not rely only on them for career building.

The curriculum of my course BSc honours physics is pretty good and it provides sufficient informations in theory classes and practical labs are maintain good and teachers are actively participate in the practicals with the students to teach them more about this course. The frequency of the timing is difficult I can say that because it has many theory classes and on everyday due to which the students can't focus on the subjects and regular activities other than main course.
