Faculty,Time and Scope

As per for the ece and IT dept's,these dept's give facility to crack compettitive exams,but ece dept doesn't have a good campusing record. At the end it is a good college for any aspiring mind.

This college have good faculty with a fine tradition of on campus jobs,with all these there are scopes for research works and internships.with a campus of 165 acers and good faculty helps the students to perform that good for career. Other than that a good enviornment is there.

The course curriculum was well organised,as in the first year we have to read about the basic knowledges of every department and from second year we were introduces with our core departmental subjects with labrotary works.from second year we were also given chance to have internships and vocational training.

Our college doesn't provides any stipends for internships but provides internships and also helps students to get internships in other college and other companies.

The placement and job opportunities are average,in the year of 2017 the placement was not good but in the year of 2018 it was good enough and was a record placement,as mostly IT companies like CTS,TCS,Wipro visits the campus,along with them Bosch,L&T and other companies do also visits.

There are lots of events held in this college,the annual cultural festival which is named as JECLAT is the biggest cultural fest in north-bengal,the techno management festival SRISTI is the biggest tech-management fest in north bengal,along with this liberta is the annual literary fest,annual sports are held,inter and intra college cricket and football tournaments are held,dance,drama,music fests are also held.

As per my own knowledge this college is expensive than other govt engg colleges,the semester fees for ECE dept is 6000 exam fee is 1000 and mess bill is 12000,so the fees are higher,but as the facility is good enough than any other colleges it is feasible.

The college provides Half free and full free scholarships.along with that it helps the students to get minority and other national level scholarships,the alumni association also provides scholarships.

The campus is of 165 acers with tea-garden behind it,it has 4 boys hostels and one girls hostels.the gender ratio male :female is 4:1,the weather is good enough.in this campus students can explore their talents through clubs funded by the govt,like music club,dance club,magazine club,sports club etc.

Hostel facilities are good enough,in first year hostel 4 students live in a spacious room, in the second year 4 students live in one room, in the third year 2 students live in one room,in last year each student have his own room without any partner,and the mess food is good enough with grand ideal dinners held in each semesters.

The alumni association is good and it helps the presebts by providing scholarships,funds,referals,seminars etc.

There are total 8 semesters,in each semester there are internal exams whose numbers are added in the semester numbers,lab exams are held in each semester,viva is also held,and as this college is an autonomuos college so it sets its own paper and the professors themselves check them.

I have given the WBJEE examination and on that exam i had a general rank of 4081,i filled the choices on the website of wbjee merit list,according to the colleges and departments,after that i got to know that i was getting the electronics and communication department in jgec,so i went there and got admitted.

The faculty of electrical, mecanical,civil departments are good,the faculty of computer science is good nowadays,but the faculty of electronics and communication engineering and information technology are not that good and they are small in numbers and not sufficient.
