Placement Experience

3

Exams are based on sem, totally we have 8 sem, after completing semester 6 we can attend campus placement Average package is around 8 lack per annum, placement based on marks and skill Above 8 CGPA is safest score for placement My plan is after B. Tech taking masters in civil engineering also phd for teaching as professor

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fee only 5000 per year and 13000 needed for admission time, if you need hostel facility, then should be pay quotient deposit, in hostel around 3000 per month Scholarship are available for students like NSP, MCM, e-grands etc, hostel students get extra scholarship Other fee like union fee, uniform, book is also needed

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life in GCE kannur is very satisfactory, weekly we have programs like ethinic day, music night, onam, diwali etc And there is so many clubs like IEEE, ICI, SHE ets For improving social services there is team like NSS, NCC We have central Library,in the case of sports football, basketball, cricket, badminton is available Also extra curriculum activities like video editing, movie directing, music competition is available

Hostel Facilities

5

I think GCE kannur hostel is best compare to other colleges, because every facilities are available like wifi, water filter, proper electric connection, health food with affordable fee Around 3000 per month is the hostel fee, includes building rent, electric bill and mess fee When the admission time a quotient deposit around 13000 is needed Hostel isn't get every students it depends on their annual income and distance from home Other students PG's are available near collage

Admission

KTU university admission is through KEAM entrance examination, and also add +2 marks in mathematics, physics, chemistry. The cutt off is based on category like general,OBC, SC etc, SC category get more reservations Every College help desk will help the admission process through online and offline, KEAM entrance exam is not much difficult, syllabus is based on plus one and plus two, In 2024 exams are conducted by different shift like JEE I think that category based reservation should be stop, because it effect highly scored students opportunity

Faculty

3.5

Faculties are highly qualified, like phd from IIT madras or other university, classes are very interactive, in my opinion very few teachers aren't proper for taking classes In GCE kannur we have an option for ratings teacher classes and behavior through an app, its very helpful for students We can ask doubt through online and offline, also we can interact through whatsup group Few teachers are very young, like below 35 year old, they haven't enough experience about that subject, it's make difficult to understand that subject

Placements are really good. Since college is related to ISRO maximum students with cgpa above than 7 are elligible for ISRO interviews and are selected based on their performance. Apart from ISRO many campanies like Texas Instruments, UTS, Mercedez , also come here for recruuitment. Many also opt for M.tech and MBA after graduation

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.

Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies - [KUFOS], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Food Technology)
Reviewed on May 11, 2024(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was never interested in engineering. I passed KEAM entrance exam. So my parents forced me to become an engineer. Since I was interested, I thought food technology might be a good branch in engineering. So I got admission in KUFOS through allotment. The course is actually good . In the 1st year, you study basic engineering, 2nd year onwards food related courses are taught. If you are a student who only have the intention to study you will find this college easy to adjust. They provide all facilities to study. There is no particular frequency for a semester. Even though academic calender is there for each batch it is not followed properly. In this college the course may last upto 4.5 years. Due to this reason the students ask the management to cut shot semester breaks so that they won't loose 1 year.

I only have postive thoughts about that campus. The campus helped me to remove my pre-occupations, inhibitions, fear etc. It gave a lot of memorable moments, large number of friends. The most special thing about the college is those memorable friendships with the faculties whos understand students very well.
