Remarks

I'm extremely satisfied with my college, in the beginning, I never thought I would be this comfortable with my college. But the professors are extremely devoted and the societies are also very active. One should definitely be a part of these societies to make the best out of their college life. The only disappointment is the college canteen's food so far.

Entrance Preview

This was the best that I could get with 94% and it was ranked 5 in the national institutional ranking framework which is under the ministry of human resource development. Our college has good opportunities for growth in the societies, especially dramatics.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course structure is the same in all the colleges under Delhi University. The courses are really up to date and relatable. They almost cover all the topics necessary for one's enhancement. The topics also prepare us for further studies, such as majors to n our respected fields.

Internships Opportunities

Our college is really active in extracurricular activities and providing internships with many NGOs and other organizations, these organizations are allowed to hold their presentation and interested students can apply for the internships if it suits their needs.

Placement Experience

4

placements in our colleges are really good but not excellent. The companies take interviews in the college campus only, the marks are really crucial for selection and so is our communication skills and confidence. The packages depend on the type of job being offered but most of them are of 20000 per month basis.

College Events

4.5

The college organizes various events such as Freshers, farewell party, Diwali Mela, fests, etc. The major event in the University of Delhi are the fests conducted by all the colleges under it. It's celebrated almost like a festival and famous celebrities are also a part of these fests mostly singers and rappers are invited. The cultural societies and fashion society also perform, the participants are the members of these societies while others can volunteer in the designing, managing and other activities. It's really a lifetime experience.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees are really feasible and inexpensive. For most of the courses, the fees are around 10000 rupees per year only. For some courses, it is as low as 5000 rupees per year as well. Other courses such as BBA, BBE, and BMS has fees around 32000 rupees per year.

Fees and Financial Aid

As yet I haven't availed any scholarship or loan facility but yes the college do provides with the vast number of scholarships to the students belonging to financially weaker sections of society and also give cash prizes to the toppers every year.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is amazing because there are many places to hang out with friends near our college and our campus also has beautiful gardens and well-maintained gardens to chill and relax. The gender ratio is also good as there is the equal number of girls and boys. Extracurricular activities are also vast, there are various societies which participates in the number of competitions and have won many awards as well. Sports are also given immense importance. Cricket and volleyball tournaments take place in our college. Labs are well maintained as well.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

There are no hostel facilities and hence no mess food. There is a college canteen though which serves pretty decent food it's not much hygienic.they have lays and soft drinks which make it easy for us to survive, our college also has a mother dairy stall. Outstation students rent out a PG in Satya Niketan which is a hub for our college students, it is 5 minutes walk for us from our college.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are very friendly and helpful, we can look for them if we are in need of any help related to our college or studies. The alumni also make frequent visits to meet their professors and they are in touch with their juniors and freshers also. The college also held alumni meet recently in 2018.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is not hectic at all, it is based on semester examination, that is exams are conducted twice a year in December and may. In between, the internals is conducted throughout the year.in Externals, there are enough options given in the question paper to attempt. The schedule of examination is also not extremely tiring but somewhat okay. I do not have laboratory experiments in my field so I cannot answer on that part, but their schedule is also not hectic.

Admission

The first criteria to get admission in ARSD is to meet the cut-off list which is released by the college on its website as well as on DU's website. The application process has been made totally online, so we need to apply online through DU's website by logging in to our portal and selecting the college which we have met according to our best of 4 percentage. Take a printout of the form and submit it with the 12th mark sheet,10th mark sheet, school leaving certificate, character certificate and transfer certificate in the college during the prescribed time, after which I got enrolled into the college.

Faculty

4.5

All the professors are qualified to hold a Ph.D. degree in their respected fields, they are motivated towards their jobs as well. They have immense knowledge about their subject and are also regular to college. But we cannot totally dependent upon all the professors as some of them doesn't put their best into teaching us.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose political science because i want to go for government exams and political science is an important subject for clearing government exams As per my info, my curriculum is very close to syllabus for exams like UPSC and SSC For improving teaching methods, projectors should be installed and implemented as it helps us to understand and see it more better The frequency of exam is twice a year as semester exam, and exam is not very tough nor too easy, it is medium level that anyone can score good marks if studied well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Regarding course curriculum, I am not satisfied the additional courses like SAC, VAC, AEC have no purpose, they are just a headache which makes it difficult for students to focus on the main subjects, although I am in favour of GE subjects. The marking scheme of 90 marks written paper and 70 marks for internal is also great. Apart from this talking about political science honours curriculum, I will say it is pretty great, there are difficult concepts and bulky material to study from but it could be improved by reducing the weight/ pressure put up by other subjects- sec,vac...

Companies visit are often at our college like Deloitte, wipro , Infosys , KPMG etc but options are wide only for commerce background students they are limited for arts faculty students like me. Highest package is about 6 to 7 lpa while most of the package ranges between 4 to 6 lpa percentage of students getting are average and they are mostly from comm letce and economic or business background. I would go for journalism and choose IIMC for my master's.
