What Students Say

Likes

The college has a Decent Infrastructure and Facilities when it comes to basic Amenities.
Celsius in the Annual Fest of CIEM. Other than that there are Several Activities and events related to Sports,Tech and Cultural which provides exposure and Experience in the overall development.Fossils and Snigdhajit are some recent performers.
Placement Records are Average in CSE, IT, ECE.Companies like Amazon, Amedeus and several others visits the campus. Several Government internships Opportunities area also provided by Professor's references if you perform well.

Dislikes

Nothing much to dislike. There are scopes for improvement in infrastructure and the college is doing their best to achieve it.
Placements are a Key factor and it depends on the person as the college provides the opportunity but it's on the student to grab it.

Course Curriculum Overview

The Curriculum of MAKAUT is Followed here and it's pretty good. Attendance policy is there but professors are understanding and they will allow Urgent and Important reasons if you missed their class. Moreover there is a Decent balance between study and Extra Curriculum.

Companies Provide Internship in the 3rd or 4th yr. Off-Campus internships and Government provided internships is Appreciated even in the 2nd yr. One of the Recent Government internships was related to the ministry of Railways where the project demanded for a solution to the Water Shortage problem in the trains like Vande Bharat, Rajdhani etc.

Placements are Pretty okay. Usually Pupils get Offers but there are many Scenarios where they have Opt for an MBA, MTECH or some other post graduate degree Amazon visited and selected 6 students this year 14-18 LPA has to be the Highest Package and lowest Package was Around 2.8 lakhs. 90% Students get placement offers.

Fees and Financial Aid

SVMCM scholarships are Provided which is of 60k per year if you pass on every subject in the semester exam with 60% average and family income below 3 lakhs. TFW Category students need to pay Rs. 1250 per semester Regular Student fees Vary between 42,000 to 50,000 per semester.

Campus Life

There are several Inter-departmental and Social Events that takes place on regular intervals. Saraswati puja And Vishwakarma Puja is also Celebrated with joy. students are given the Responsibility for organising all these Events. Court of Dreams (fashion show),SKAR(Dance) , Alfaaz(Singing), Cricket, Football, Volleyball and several other Sport techno cultural Clubs are there. Celsius is the Annual Fest of the college.

Admission

There are Two Ways to get admission. 1. Entrance exam 2. Direct Admission For Entrance Exam, your WBJEE Rank must be under 35k-40k for CSE/IT And for Direct admission you can Visit the College Website or directly visit the college just a Few days After the WBJEE and JEE Advanced exam gets over.

Faculty

Usually the professors have Done BTECH and MTECH from some colleges like Jadavpur University, NIT Durgapur and etc. Quite a few Professor have Ph.D and research publications as well. There are 8-10 professors approximately for every dept. The professors are available for interactions and Doubt solving if any.

A comprehensive review of MAKAUT , WB

Placement Experience:

from 6/7 th semester onwards students become eligible for campus placements. Infosys visited with around 22-23 offers , Cognizant visited with arount 15-16 offers , TCS visited with several offers(not sure how many) , that's it the big names. Apart from these small startups and companies visited too. Highest package offered was 11lpa by TCS , 9.6lpa by infosys, 6.48lpa by Cognizant. Profiles were ASE in TCS , PAT in CTS , SET in Infosys. The percentage of students placed was less arount 30-40% , mostly because the curriculum lacks placement prep. I have joined Cognizant as a Programmer Analyst Trainee after graduating .

ELIGIBILITY FOR CAMPUS PLACEMENT: At Brainware University students generally become eligible for campus placement from the final years of their course. For many programs placemnet preparation sactivities such as aptitude training, soft skills development, resume building, mock interviews begin earlier, you can say that these activities are incoporated from the 1st semester itself. COMAPINES VISIT: Several reowned and reputed compaines from IT, management,healthcare,media, and core sectors visits the university for campus recruitment. Placement drive include companines from domains such as software services, consulting,education,sales digital marketing etc. For my domain CSE AIML companies like Infosys,Amazon,Cognizant,Adobe etc visits. Each year multiple students receive job offers through campus drives and some students also secure multiple offers depending on their skills and performance. HIGHEST AND AVERAGE PACKAGE OFFERED: The highest package offered varies by course and recruiter and also with top performing students receive highest packages based on their role requirements and skills. It range from 12 LPA to 45 LPA. The average package offered to students is competitive for a private university and aligns with industry standards for entry level roles. These generally range from 3.5 to 8 LPA. PRECENTAGE OF STUDENTS GETTING PLACED: Placement outcome mostlky depend on academic performance, attendance, communication skills, technical knowledge, and participation in training sessions. Students who actively engage in placement preparation have better placement success. About 98% students were placed in 2023. MY PLAN AFTER GETTING THE DEGREE: After completing the degree my primary focus is to secure a jon through campus placement and gain practical knowledge. After 7th semester companies started coming and also there is different criteria for all companies like some company required more than 8 CGPA that completely dependent on company preferences. The average package is 3.5 lpa .Most of the student get hired by tcs. Placement success based on branch and skill.

Mainly mass recruiter companies like TCS, wipro, Infosys, cognizant comes here.Some top notch mncS like oracle,amazon, Microsoft also comes here .One senior of our previous batch got 1 cr Per annum in off campus way. Avg package is 10 lpa like . Jft and pst branch has full 100% placement. My plan after getting the degree is to be placed in top notch mnc & work as SDE.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of my college is very strong.From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements.There are around 50 companies visited in the college such as TCS,Intel. Microsft. Deloitte,etc.205 students are placed in TCS in year 2019. 415 students are placed in campus placement last year. Maximum CTC was 25 lacs/pa and average CTC was 5.5 lacs/pa previous year.After Jadhavpur University,the average CTC of the college is higher than IEM. Above 95% placements for IT,CSE and ECE students.There are around 55-60% placements in other department.My plans are doing some great things after getting the degree.

The main reason behind choosing the college over other colleges is it's electrical department's history. The electrical department has received many awards, certificates for the projects development.
