Course Curriculum Overview

4

well, I chose mechanical Engineering as my interest in making smart changes in automotive vehicles and motors and this field of automation and robotics in car manufacturing industries will be booming in the future there is a plus point also that a computer science student may struggle to get a job in other fields but it is very easy and approachable for a student in core branch to shift his carrier in IT sector. well there are workshops to prepare you for fundamental tasks there are CAD labs to make you interested in model designing and there are clubs such as Aerounwired ( based on aeronautical Engineering), unwired( based on automobile manufacturing), and RIG( for robotics interested students) but for getting in these clubs you need to pass several selection rounds. In our time in the first year, we had to study subjects which were not related to our branch. but now new students have options for a few subjects they can choose on their interest and many nonrelative subjects exchanged.

Internships Opportunities

4

they offer internship opportunities to students during summer vacation or as projects in various laboratories under a professor but there are GPA criteria for that as well. during summers many companies visit the college such as Akash Institute, Bharat Petroleum Limited, Bharat Electronics Limited, Atlaasian, Amazon, American Express, Axis Bank, Bajaj Auto Limited, etc in 2023 around 303 offers were offered for internships which were around 24.4 % of total registered students. There are two final-year projects you need to do to get a degree except this a student can do as many as he/she wants in the technical clubs or on his own.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements are quite good and in terms of placements, this college comes under the top 5 nits in India. after 4th semester students get opportunities to get internships and in internships, many companies offer PPO (pre-placement offer) to them. and after the 6th semester companies start coming for placements and till the fourth year many of them get placed just wait to get the degree. in 2023 companies like Atlassian, Barclays, Bharat Petroleum, Bharat Electronics, Accenture, bajaj, Axis Bank, etc offered a total of 1144 offers. in 2023 the highest package was 47 lakhs and the average was around 14.36 lakhs. 84.76% of total registered students got placed in 2023 placements. I will get job in the company related to robotics or i will study abroad for robotics and automation.

Fees and Financial Aid

they provide fee waivers based on your family's annual income: for below one lakh: tuition fee=0 for between one lakh to five lakh: tuition fee= 33% of original and for female students, they provide many scholarships every year based on their performance. and if a student is suffering from a weak financial background they can apply for a scholarship at Shraman Foundation, Reliance Foundation, Medhavi, FFE, and many more online in the first year of their graduation. for me, it is around 8 lakhs for my complete Btech including hostel fee, tuition fee, etc. in our hostel canteens, xerox shops, and in the library sometimes they need a coworker so they paste posters regarding that and you can get enough to spend for your expenses.

Campus Life

4

Campus Life is very good and there are no restrictions in hostels after your first years for both girls and boys whether you go out of town or state no one will ask you for permission but the thing is you need to maintain attendance. there are many regional festivals such as Holi, Pongal, Diwali, and Onam celebrated at the grand level, and along with fresher parties and farewells there are two main events that happen every year. One is Ragam which is the biggest cultural event in south India and runs for 3 days every March in this event many stalls, games, and Pro shows you will be enjoying. and the other is the technical fest Tathva in which robot wars, bike shows, and pro shows, games are there which comes in November. The library remains open 24/7 and you can get books between 6 morning to 12 night, there are crores of books you can get access from Thermodynamics to Rich Dad Poor Dad every type of book is available. you can get access for any type of sport you want.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There are a total of 11 hostels and 3 Mega hostels for students. in the first year, you may struggle because in the first year, there is availability for 3 students but 4 students are living after that, you will be shifted to the mega hostel where 2 students live in 1 room. in the room, you will get two study tables and chairs and one cupboard there and there is one lamp and one tube light in your room. In the hostel, there are coops and common rooms in every hostel. In Mega hostel there is One large coop and Xerox shop, one TV room, tennis court, chess, carrom, badminton court etc is there. in every hostel, there is a mess you can register for any mess for a period of one month or you can pay and eat without registering for any mess. meal quality is average, which varies according to the day. There are PGs available if you want outside. For hostels, there is a fee included in your hostel fee of around 13000 per annum.

Admission

the admission process takes a long period after getting the final seat in JOSSA after one month you have to be there at college for physical reporting where first they will check your documents and then they will check your fee payment status and then you have to wait in lines for getting hostel I'd cards. To get into college only you need to have at least 95 percentile in your JEE mains if you belong to the general category. there are reservations for girls, home-state students, other cast students, and PWD students. you will get an email in which your institute email ID will be provided in which necessary documents and required document details will be attached you just need to take a printout of those forms and get verified there. For SC/ST and home state students, there are some scholarships and fee waivers on their tuition fees. mid term exams happen after 1.5 months of start and end sem exams at the end of the semester approximately after 3-4 months.

Faculty

4

In classrooms, the faculty-to-student ratio is around 1:45. In labs and workshops, it is around 1:5. In our branch(Mechanical) there are a total of 215 students who were divided into 2 batches in the first year now divided into 4 batches after starting our 2nd year.so now it has become easier for every student's understanding and visibility and he can ask doubts freely. every professor is qualified with a PhD Degree and based on experience they are classified as assistant professor(3-4 years), associate professor(5-7 years), and professor(9-10 years). the method of teaching depends on professor to professor some professors like to explain it on board completely and some professors like to use projectors. Some teachers just teach and go and some of them ask to students for doubts and questions at every moment. we can approach teacher from 9-5 to their office or we can mail them directly for any issue or guidance and we can even ask directly in the class or after to any professor.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
