Everything is okay here at IIT kharagpur.. only thing is that college is a big away from city

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose mining engineering because I love this profession as it is composed of very interesting challanges everyday. curriculum covers almost everything that a students needs to learn and implement it in the field

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 200000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fee here at IIT kharagpur is approximately 1lakh per semester and the hostel will charge you about 40 to 50k per semester. yes we get pretty good scholarships here like.. merit cum means scholarship, NSP, etc

Campus Life

Asia's largest library is in IIT kharagpur and we have our cultural fests like Spring fest , kshitij and many more. these are the best days of the kgpians. everyone Enjoys at their fullest and creates their beautiful projects

Hostel Facilities

As the iit kharagpur is an old IIT, The rooms are not newly renowned. But those are pretty decent and the food at the mess is good , although few students don't like that mess food. you can also get private accomodation inside and outside of the campus

Hostel Fee: INR 80000 per year

Admission

The admission process is completely done by the Josaa after the jee advanced ranks are out. you'll be allotted according to your college and branch preferences. Choosing the appropriate options in Josaa process is very important

The faculty is very good Here at IIT kharagpur. almost all the faculty are well qualified and having impressive teaching skills. The ratio of faculty to the students is also good , we can interact at anytime with the professors , they are super free to feed us knowledge

Placement Experience:

From Third semester, the students become eligible for campus placements. The companies like P360, EY, Deloitte, Tech Mahindra, Neutanix, BinaryWorks and few more visited our college for placements and mostly 15 to 20 offers were made Highest package was around 5 to 6 lpa 50% students were placed I am now preparing for govt jobs and side by side also applying for offcampuses. I have also given CUET for pursuing M. Tech

Placement Experience:

Studentsbecome eligible for placements from 7th semester. Various companies such as TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Godrej, etc. come for placements. Earlier many offers used to come however in the recent years the number of offers made have reduced significantly. highest package comes around 10 to 11 lakhs per annum with average being 4-5 lakhs per annum. I have kept my options open after completion of degree in doing further studies that is Mtech or getting into a job whichever seems appropriate at the situation.

Placement are good enough. From 6th semester students become eligible to for campus placements(internships as well as full time offer). 105 companies visited in 2025 and many package offered by them based on student's skill. highest palcement : 45 LPA offered by amazon. Percentage of students getting placemnets : 86%. After getting the degree my plan is to take a decent job and to be finanancially stable.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from 7 and 8 semester also their are many placement on thee intern companies. thier are total of 50 t0 60 companies that visits year which leads to very good placement percentage, in mining its above 90 percent. companies which come are infosys, microsoft, google , coal india, tcs, pwc etc. the higest pacage was 39 lacs by coal india. as mentioned above the placement is very good and almost everybranch placement is between 79 to 95 percentage of student which are placed, their are many mass recruiter if you didnt get the best pacakge you still have the chance to get a good package from the mass recruiter. my plan after degree is to advance in computer science even if i dont have the branch but i have the passion to do coding and become a web developer also i will try to get some more degree like mba and mtech and i will also try if i get selection to study abroad.

A GOOD COLLEGE WITH GOOD PLACEMENT , SPORTS FACILITY.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from 7th sem. The names of comanies visited are TCS, Infosys, Capegimini,Tech mahindra etc. Some students Got 2 offer laters . Highest packages last year was 47 LPA (off Campus) 27LPA ( on campus). Average pakage was 5-6Lpa. The job role is Software Development. Percentage of Students Got placement is 92-95% In my Deoartment. Other is Around 70_90%. My plans to take placement from product based company.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
