one of the thing i truly appreciate about my college is great faculty, the teachers are friendly , the professors are knowledgeable.
moreover my college enjoys a steller reputation , the brand name , if you ask anyone from the commerce background they knows about goenka and they do respect a goenka student

Dislikes

one of the main drawback is the campus is really small , no canteen no playground nothing
they don't host programs and functions like other colleges

Course Curriculum Overview

to be honest the curriculum and activities are very low. they just focus on the theoritical concepts not practical. i think they should improve it on this aspect and try to focus beyond the lectures.they takes only one exam that is internal and apart from that end sem is conducted by university once a semester twice a year

they provide various schlorship i don't get it but it's a govt college they have various type of schlorships. either way i think it's the most cheapest college in the whole city. i mean just 800 rs per semester where as most of the colleges are taking 25000 per semester

Campus Life

they arrange only one festival that is QUEST it's an 3 days festival i never attended it as they are very strict with the tickets . tho i heard my friends enjoyed the festival. one library card is given you can take any 2 books in one time . no playgrounds are there but it does have a tt table and a carrom board.

Admission

no entrance exam is needed. the college's merit list is on higher secndary marks. eligiblity is you need to pass class 12 with good marks. if you don't scoe above 90 percent then you can't get admission withour reservation. online form is uploaded on the website from there you can fill it.

Faculty

the effectiveness of faculty members ; the teaching method is good from most of the mentors most of the proffesor wrote and published there own book the qualification of faculty members; as this is a government college obviously they are highly qualified , and exprienced well

Placement Experience:

Idk but i guess students become eligible from 2nd or 3rd sem. Idk what is the company visited but the placements are very good i heard that, avg package varies 2.4 lpa I guess. Right now i am doing internship so as of now i don't have plans.

Various companies come to this college for on campus placement Average package= 1000000 Highest package=2200000 Various multi national company and other big and small companies visit this college for on campus placement. Most of the students also get placement opportunities whether large or small package The opportunity is given to all degree whether it be bcom or bcom hons . Any student who does not get placed can easily use the degree to get a high paying off campus placements and to go to any good college or stay in this college for their post graduation.

The course curriculum is backdated and should be improvised as it doesn't give any exposure of present industry knowledge. The frequency of exams is that exams are held after 6 months on semester basis and are easy to pass and majority of the students pass this semester easily.

Quite an Average Government College which lacks in infrastructure, faculty, and placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I mentioned, the course curriculum is outdated and no new industry knowledge is being taught. Projects and assignments are also bookish and are just for sake. Teaching methods by teachers are also bookish and backward. The frequency of exams are after every 6 months and are pretty manageable and easy.

Goenka college of commerce and business administration is the second best college in Kolkata and the best college under Calcutta University. Hence it has a brand value. I got admission offers in SXUK, Jaipuria THK Jain and Bhawanipur college, But this was the best option I had. The admission process is through your boards marks. Proud to be Goenkan

I got admission in Aliah University which is in New Town Kolkata I got rank 12. I applied in Shri Shikshathan College also and got admission in first list. I rejected both the colleges as Aliah University though it is a reputed college but the placement committee is not as good as Goenka College of commerce. I applied for BBA + MBA integrated program in Aliah University but I wanted to pursue BCom honours in accountancy and finance thus I rejected Aliah University. Shri shikshayatan college on the other hand is another reputed college in which I applied for bcom honours in accountancy and finance I rejected Shri shikshayatan college as no doubt Goenka College is way more better than Shree shikshayatan and Shri shikshayatan is comparatively very much expensive in comparison with goenka. Shri shikshayatan takes around 250000 tuition fee on the other hand Goenka College charges only 4090 rs for 4 years....Read More
