- I don't like the students here. There is so muchh discrimination against biharis
- Food is such a suck here. You definitely can't tolerate food
Course Curriculum Overview
If you choose the btech in cse then and only you have the scope here otherwise forget for the future. However some teachers are great and if you got the right teacher they will push you towards the bright future. You will have two exams in a year that is end sem exam only.and you will also have 4 surprise tests during the whole sem in all the subjects.
Placement Experience
During the 7th sem you can sit in the placements. Infosys Wipro are the major recruiters. Highest package is about 15 lakh per annum and average is so poor it is I guess 4 to 5 lakhs per annum.if you did well enough in all the semesters then there is a high chance to get placed. About 70% students get offers. I got plans to pursue higher degree because I don't want to settle at less.
Fees and Financial Aid
If you are a Bengali student then you have so much benefit in terms of financial condition. I am here for a year and there is no such rise in fees. However a year before when I got the admission in that time only fees of hostel and mess increased hostel fees increased from 4000 to 6500 and mess fees from 1400 to 2600. I took admission here only because it was not costly but it affected me a lot when I got here. However fees of course is still I can afford and it is good.
Campus Life
This college only focuses on study not anything else. Library is good and has capacity of 300 students. There is a sports week during April month. Men women both participate and it happens between departments. There is only few clubs like NSS and HFC which is the only groups that are worth to spend your time and energy.
Admission
I got here through wbjee. You need to be under rank of 4000 to get cse here if you are outside of west bengal. West Bengal candidates have so much benefits but none for outsiders. The entrance exam took once a year at the end of April. And the difficulty level is not that tough.if you have prepared well enough for jee then you can get under rank of 2000. One thing is that college does not respond easily you have to keep calling them.
Faculty
Approx 60 students are there in the class and teachers are nice and they usually help the students Most of the teachers are Bengali. And during the teaching the generally prefer to speak Bengali and that is biggest drawback
