Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course is draining but interesting at the same time. It opens wide doors for you. Each semester has really different yet complimentary topics. There are add on courses every year. The first semester has Botany and Biotechnology along with zoology and biochemistry which are secondary. There are secondary courses in the the first four semesters. In the fifth semester there's an open course. The sixth semester has two Biotechnology papers and 3 Botany papers.

Fees and Financial Aid

The basic fee is 25000 per semester if you are a merit seat student. The fee hikes to 50000 per semester if you are a management student. There are 2 semesters a year. So the fees would mount to 50000 for a merit student and 1 lakh for the latter for a year. The fees would hike up a 5000-6000 if there are any add on courses. Exam fees are to be paid separately. Extra has to be paid for records, books, etc As of now the college does not provide any scholarships or help. It is purely business.

Campus Life

3.5

The campus life for Botany and biotech students are dry. The events are usually organized at the main campus. So we have tto travel to the main campus for events. If you have a thick friends group the programs would be enjoyable but it won't if you don't vibe well. The clubs again are for names sake. There hasn't been any proper programs that were organized. There are occasional study tours which are fun. IV is organized every year.

Admission

You can take admission directly from the college site. Or the admission can be taken through registration on government allotment sites. Government allotment would give you a merit seat. Otherwise it is going to be a management seat which incurs more fee. There are no exams as such. There is an interview conducted by the hod which is just for names sake and anyone can get through.

Faculty

4

The faculty are extremely friendly and attentive. They guide you throughout the course. Some teachers more than the others though. Some of the teachers are stuff for novels whereas others might turn out to be snakes. But then that is all behavior wise. Teaching is unquestionably the best. Most of them has a PhD. There are teachers still working on projects. They collaborate with each other to publish research papers. The student - teacher ratio is almost equal. There are almost fourteen teachers in our campus and there are fourteen students in our class. Therefore the ratio is one is to one. Two to three students are assigned a mentor at the beginning of the course. These mentors guide the students throughout the course and are also responsible for the final year project. The project is completed under the guidance of the mentors. They come up with a project and will give you instructions to carry it out.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is almost best. Curriculum doesn't influenced me in deciding this course. Curriculum should add internships. Currently there is no mandatory internship, if students are interested they can do internship during vacations. As we are learning psychology which need to be practiced in real world settings, curriculum must include real world training to help students understand things more effectively. Currently intervel between exams are non existent. Internal exams, then semester exams, you blink once, next internal exams, followed by semester exams. Syllabus is understandable, can learn if you try. Exams are also manageable. Real world examples and stories can be included in teaching methods, as psychology is related to humans and human interaction, to get better grasp of concepts. Rather than focusing on passing exam, should focus on the concepts and understand them in-depth. There are a lot of theories to study by heart. And there are many repetitive topics that overlap, but in different semesters.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is Bsc Biotechnology. It is a research associated course. Its main scope is in research. But in every industry let it be medical or industrial a biotechnologist is required. I would like more practical knowledge than theory knowledge in this course as it is needed to be implemented in labs hands on experience is essential. Exams are conducted every 6 months as semester. Class tests and model exams are conducted frequently. Assignments, projects, seminar ,etc.. are given every month.
