Course Curriculum Overview

4

The time duration of each class being about an hour is a fairy good thing as it's neither too lengthy nor too short. However what DU really needs to change is the inclusion of subjects like AEC, VAC and SEC. They do nothing but dilute the efforts we are suppoto be in the field of our interest.

Internships Opportunities

4

I have not been exposed to any internships yet. Though I have numerous friends and seniors being involved in the same, being a first year outstation student I couldn't do an internship as of now but hope do get an experience soon.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee ranging at around 10k-14k is quite affordable. There are also numerous scholarships and financial aid available for students from EWS categories. Being a first year student I haven't applied for any job opportunities yet but have heard that our campus has high placement records.

Campus Life

4

The annual fest of the college - MOSAIC is a very fun and lively event. Other than that various societies and departments have their fests conducted from the months of December to March. Ramjas has opportunities for various sports and extra curricular socities.

Admission

The admission process was through CUET. I'm not well ware of the cutoff but my score after normalization was 746/800 and I belong to General Category. The exam isn't very hard to crack if you are thoroughly well versed with your 12th standard syllabus.

Faculty

3.5

There are numerous faculty members in our department all excelling in various fields. These profs not only are our teachers or mentors but are also nothing less than friends to us. In a department like ours, no query is considered juvenile, with the professors being highly approachable. However with the recent displacement, things have taken a sharp turn.

Other Applied Colleges

St. Xavier's College - [SXC] | Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (English)

Delhi University has always been a dream thus when I got into NC, didn't want to let go the opportunity.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our college offers a good mix of theory and real-life application, making it a good choice for anyone genuinely curious about how the human mind works. It also balances academics with hands-on experiences—students don’t just read about psychology in theory, they actually get to practice it through labs, experiments, internships, and field visits. Regular workshops, seminars, and presentations keep the learning process interactive and help build communication and analytical skills that are useful both inside and outside the classroom. Recently a resilience workshop was held by an alumni of MSCW, where we got deeper insights about how resilience can be built, how coping works and how some coping techniques can be bad for u.

Placement Experience:

Dyal Singh Placements aren't that hefty that I can boast a lot about them. Since I have already mentioned in previous section that I want the deepest knowledge of political science and the only way, one can gain that is by doing masters. Coming to DSC placements over 30% students of Political Science from our college are placed via campus.

Media people as Hindi Hons students obviously have chane there or researches. Some even pursue freelance things as college provides the perfect platform to gain confidence and showcase the skills. Otherwise research or political expert roles are the only roles offered to Hindi Hons students. Since I want a complete command I will be doing masters in Hindi Hons.

DSC placements are not that great as around 30-40% students are placed and that is how it is here. Most students of Political Science go for higher studies or get job opportunities in political consultancy or journalism.

Placement Experience:

For placements, there's not much on campus placement programs. Our placement cells are active though. Time to time they keep us posted about the upcoming internship or job opportunities and even invite various organisations for placements. You can even look for off campus placement programs and teachers are very helpful in this. They even offer letter of recommendation for the internship opportunities upon request.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I love the course I have opted for in the College. I had so much interest in literature since I was in school, hence made the decision to opt for English Honours in my undergraduate degree. The curriculum of this particular course is easy to get, teaches practical knowledge. We have Internal Assesment and Continuous Assessment before theory exams. In continuous assessment, we are given some topic to make presentation or a group discussion from our sense of knowledge and experience. Speaking up in a crowd and in front of the whole class gives the practical knowledge of being there, present, confidence and speak up your thoughts I would love if we can also watch theatre within the curriculum as we read various plays but watching and analysing them would be great. Mostly the exams are held in December and May, they are moderate level of examination and I have found absolute no difficulty sitting in them and writing. We get 3 hours for the core subjects, and 1 hour for our respective VACs, SECs and AECs.

Area that should be improved that is treat every student similarly without any discrimination. Faculty don't even tdke action on sol, IGNOU and NCWEB students. So I think it should be improved firstly.

So there is a placement cell here in LSR that serves as a mediator between recruiters and students and provide adequate placement opportunities for students from various departments. Also companies like Blackstone, accenture, nomura come for placements and the highest package that has been offered to a student was INR 45 LPA!

The course curriculum I took is okay considering the low placement percentage from the college's side which is I would say sometimes bad and good at the same time as the students can find their own way around such things. Faculty just complete the topics. we have to study ourselves.
