Likes
- The teachers and peers here is top notch , all the professors are highly educated and experienced in their field , they can guide the students very well.
- College is very small but still we have atleast 2-3 events in a month which keeps the atmosphere very lively and the people in the college is from different parts of the country the social interaction has been really good.
- The number of societies present gives a good opportunity of personality development and also learning professionalism , the society culture of my college is really strong.
Dislikes
- The infrastructure is really poor , classrooms are not big enough for the total number of students present. The main block of the college really needs a renovation.
- The number of placement opportunities are very less especially people who are pursuing degrees other B.com (hons.) and Eco (hons.)
- The relevance of the education which is given is hardly relevant to the actual market need , the authorities should actually focus on improving the quality of curriculum and make it worth study.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is very good for someone who sees his/her future in reserach in this subject, if somoone wants to get a P.hd in the subject then the curriculum is good enough. But if someone wants to get a job just after their bachelors then it's an issue. The curriculum doesn't provide skiils or things you need to crack a job. Curriculum should include things which can actually provide skill building so that student who wants to get a job after bachelors can get one. Exams are conducted semester wise twice in an academic year. Exams are also focused on the theory side of the subject.
Internships Opportunities
The intership opportunities provided by college's placement cell are decent. The opportunities are limited for science students.Few students from B.co.m (hons.) got internship opportunity at Dabur india limited as their Marketing Intern
Placement Experience
The placement offered in our college is decent. All the third year and fourth year students are allowed to sit in the placement process.the placement process starts from July and continue till next year's june, Top companies which visited are - D.E, Shaw , Accenture , LEK capibilities network , ZS associates. The Highest package offered was 25 LPA. The average package is 7 LPA Around 70% of the students who participate in the placement drive gets placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
The per year fees is 48,000 rupees which includes tuition fees and others fees (i.e. lab fees and other compulsory charges). The fee for the people from reserved categories like SC , ST is nearly between 40,000 - 42,000 rupees.
Campus Life
The annual fest of the college Reniassance which is organised in april , the inter department sports event Athlos is also conducted in march Annually.Various newspapers like Hindu , Hindutan times are available for studnets in the library. The classrooms are equipped with projectors. The extarcurriculars opportunities are great in terms of societies and clubs , sports facilities are poor.
Admission
I applied in various other colleges of the delhi university for the same course , the admission process for all these colleges were same - cuet exam then csas counselling , i got Kirori Mal college in my first round of counselling . i couldn't clear the cutoff for top colleges like - HIndu , Stephens , Hansraj.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is roughly 1:40 , the faculty to student relationship is really good , student can reachout to teachers regarding their issues and most of teachers are approachable and help studnets.Few of the best faculties from my department are - Professor Raj Kumar Sir , Dr. Prempal Sir, Dr, Neha Agarwal Ma'am. They are one of most supporting which actively communicates and help students regarding their issues. We have few senior faculties in our collge who lacks empathy. For the first two years there are 7 subjects which one has to study. The exams are easy to moderate . 90% students clear the exams.The relevance of the current curriculum is an issue.
Night Life
Gym and library closing off time is around 8 p.m. Other parts of the college campus are closes after 6pm. Students still can hangout in the North campus area, The locality is not actually safe to roam around especially after 10 pm.
