Dislikes
- The pattern of exams are easier for students but that makes a tendency to skip a large portion of our syllabus which is not good in long run.
- The less availability of hostels is a problem for students and rooms outside are highly expensive.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is well designed so that we can deeply engulf into Indian history and can attain more visions on our subject. The curriculum actually encourages me to continue higher studies in history by making it more interesting. At the same time, I think more emphasis should be made in modern history and world history.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee for a year at my college is 20500.Fees are comparatively much higher than state universities.College provides some scholarships and prize moneys as well. Also the students can avail scholarships in NSP portal.Good placements are also available with large packages. There are placement cells in colleges that can help with placements.
Campus Life
The largest fest in Delhi University is in our Hindu College - Mecca. They are held in the month of April. Also every department has fests that are held in March and April. DU is also known for its various societies and being part of them will be one of the best experiences in college life. Most of the classes are technologically well equipped with projectors. The collection of books in libraries are also great to engulf into deep roots of our discipline. Sports activities like football and cricket are highly encouraged.
Admission
The National Testing Agency is the one conducting the CUET UG examination. The link to apply for the examination is available in the portal of NTA. Aspirants have to appear for the exams after passing the 12th board exams. Exams are out of 800. After exams, each universities provide their cutoffs and then those students who are able to meet the cutoffs can apply to those universities. The tests are computer based. Reservations are also available for SC, ST, Pwd, OBC, EWS, etc. The admission process are little hectic.
Faculty
Most of the faculties have Phd and are well experienced. The mode of teaching is quite different from state universities.Some classes are just open discussions while some are highly dictated. The quality of faculties are great and they are well known about the paper.
