Life at NIE Mysore

Course curriculum is pretty balanced and since I was into coding from my childhood so I decided to choose this course. The curriculum does prepare me well for real world applications or further academic pursuits. There is nothing such field or area that needs to be improved apart from a few teaching methods but ya in labs I feel that teachers should pay more attention towards the students because labs are important. The frequency and timing of exams are good as well and we have tests at periodic intervals and exams too at end of semesters.

I have not got to know about tuition fee increase policy as of now and I don't think we have anything like that. Complete cost of education will cost you around 3 lakhs per year and with hostel around 4 lakhs. We do have scholarships foe SC/ST and OBC people and girls too under some government schemes. Campus employment is pretty good but so far I haven't taken any but our seniors have got handsome offers and average package is excellent.

Yes we have annual and technical festivals in the campus as well such as TechNIEks and Ankura. You can easily get any desired book on your academics and curriculum or any other book as we have a bulk of books available in the library. Facilities and technological provisions with the classroom are excellent. Sometimes teacher use black board to teach and sometimes projector as well. Sports and extracurricular activities take place as well and many intercollege competition take place as well. We have n number of clubs like IEEE, Owasp and Onyx in our college and it's impact is just excellent here.

For Eligibility, you must have passed 12th and 10th with 60%. For admission to our college, you have to appear in Comedk or Kcet exam and clear the required cutoff for your desired branch. The difficulty level of both exams is medium and not hard. You have to solve 180 questions in 180 minutes but questions are of NCERT level still time management is tricky. Overall admission process is good.

The faculty of student ratio is good as compared to other colleges. The way they approach they problem and provide the solution is just remarkable. We have teachers who have studied from NIT Surathkal and IISc Bangalore as well. Mentorship is excellent if you stay in touch with the teacher. I do often interact with teachers whenever I feel to ask any doubt or academics related query and they always help me
