- The faculties in our department are very nice, helpful and supportive if u want to go for internships they will provide u lor but for that u have to take the internship in year break(which is nearly 1.5 months)otherwise it may be difficult
- If u don't compare it to north campus our campus is much better than some of the south campus colleges but obv needs improvement in a lot of aspects
Dislikes
- 1stly i wd say the washroom facilities are the worst in academic block they shd use the funds on the proper regular cleaning of the washrooms 2ndly our labs especially my course lab is not properly air conditionined n in 1 lab there is no ac which
- makes it difficult to work in even winters let alone summers with the lab coat on. 3rd the labs utensils shd be of good quality n ig it wd be better if they remomed the syeel utensils(bartan)and provide is proper equipments for product formulation
- using utensils is so embarassing u can't imagine the lab sinks the hygine is not maintained which makes the product we make unfit for consumption which fails the whole purpose of our course
Course Curriculum Overview
when i found out about this course i was skeptical but on researching a lot about it i found that there are many kinds of scopes in this n they are only going to increase with the time as food tech is a nvr ending field so i opt for this course n i am still researching abt it well currently I'm in 1st yr so i can't really anwer on the education basis but there is industrial visit time to time which makes us understand how they work at industry level and the practicals are intresting so we get to learn a lot areas for improvement i wd say the type of equipments we use; not to focus on cooking but more on industrial terms(they do focus on the industry but the practicals in the 1st yr seemed more twds cooking i hope they get better overtime) exam curriculum is okay they are not too tough u jst have to listen in class n read the books asked by ur faculty n u shd be scoring desently..talking about exam time, it is also sufficient as most of the exams(esp the core subs) are not lengthy
Internships Opportunities
in our course there are many companies offering internship prog n if u want to enroll in them u have to ask for an lor from the dept n then u can do the internships but moslty are without stipend u have to pay for the training there is no payment for the internship time but there are many platforms like skolar in which u don't need an lor bcz u have to do it on ur own it doesn't involve ur clg, u have to pay but they will provide u with stipend if ur work is upto the mark most companies we prefer to do internship in are amul, bikano, bikaji, Britannia, dabur, cream bell etc i have yet to apply for the internships so i cant state the project works
Fees and Financial Aid
there is no issue with the fee structure but i think du is not providing our clg with funds n that is totally unacceptable our clg is giving u best alumini so we need funds to improve the facilities the scholarships are coming often but i have not applied to those as there were some issues there was a fee concession form in the dash board of our site which reduced the fee upto ig 70 80% our course or u can say science courses does not provide any immediate placements after ug as most of the students prefer to go for further studies but there are placements in non science courses
Campus Life
annual fest(kaarvan) held in march is a 2 day fest with main events of glamfire our fashion society n ahaarya our dance society its an okayish fest can help in stress relief of students but obv do not hold any expectations it's jst an enjoyment even which also has a dj evening n usually ends max around 7pm considering its a girl's clg our tech fest food felicity has many fun events like food photography, declamation, quiz, recipie formulation in whivh many students from outside the clg participate n it's really enjoyable
Admission
For applying for bsc food tech u need to have done ur +2 with pbc(maths optional but preferable) there is a common entrance exam called CUET for many unis including du so giving this exam is mandatory its and online mode exam with 50 ques out of which u have to do any 40 this changes with the subject u have to choose pcb +1language in cuet to apply for this course my category was gen-ews which has some seats reserved but u need to have scored desent in pcb to avail that reservation benifit this is an yearly exam n there is no max limits of attempts the registration forms open in jan feb n the exams are in mid may to june
Faculty
faculty to student ratio is 7:110 which is including all 3 years students n i think this ratio is enough n doesn't really impacts us negatively all the faculties have their own way of teaching n it can depend on every student how she gets something but if anyone has any problems the faculties help in solving them so i don't think i can comment on their teaching but yes there are some faculties who wants to make our clg a schl which is very difficult for us students to cope up with especially with the travelling exam pressure n all so i think they shd wrk on that the faculty members are approachable m we interact with them frndly so thats a + point
Other Applied Colleges
Acharya Narendra Dev College - [ANDC] | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Biomedical Sciences)
As i found out biomed doesn't have much scope in india as compared to food tech i freezed my course
