Likes

The campus is pretty big compared to other campuses of colleges in north India.
There are kotas and admission based on boards and JEE so there are plenty of options to join in.
They also have international programs and is one of the top private universities in India

Dislikes

The fees might be to much 25lacs for 4 years
The attendance requirement is 75 percent
The mess food is not that good according to the fees we pay

Course Curriculum Overview

The subjects are the same in first year. And the subjects are up to date with the industry which gives us jobs. Although some subjects are not up to date. Like the materials Engineering and measurement of science and techniques.

Internships Opportunities

There are many internship offers you can get off campus and on campus. Some internships there is a cgpa cut of 8.5 and some have acceptance of all students except wlho have any black papers. But everyone get internship

Placement Experience

There plenty of companies which come to our university like Jaypee Morgan, Google, Microsoft , TCS, etc. And if you dont get campus placement then also you can easily get job because Thapar degree has alot of value and a good reputation in India.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is pretty simple. It 25 lacs for 4 years. And 1.5 times more for NRI and foriegn students. The university gives pretty good financial aid but they also ask for alot of proofing. And there are plenty of placement opportunities but you have to maintain a 7 or above cgpa

Campus Life

The campus life is ver fun especially in hostels. The hostels are clean and room have good furniture. There are clubs and society you can join. And the events and concerts are very big in Thapar. Fore example mohit chauhan came on saturnalia thapar 2023.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facilities are very good as the hostels have cleaners everyday to clean your rooms and toilets. Some hotel have common toilets and some have attached toilets. There are 5 hostels for girls and 7 hostels for boys.

Hostel Fee: INR 100000 per year

Admission

I came through jee and the cutoff was 96 percent for the top branch which is copc. Then at 92 to 88 you can get CoE and then there are ENC. You can also get cs through boards if you get above 90 percent

Faculty

The faculty of thapar is pretty big as there are assistant professors and head professors. There is a separate building for the faculty in campus. And there is something a student needs the professors are helpful.

Chandigarh University - My experience from fees to social life

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is good and cover every aspects of learning and skills needed in today's time but it feels the semester get over to fast in around 3.5 months with 3 exams and lab exam. They should provide the real learning based on a student interest some student are good in coding but they lack to communicate better, they should focus on that part also as they also do in many cases by giving subjects like soft skills and communication skills every sem.The teacher should not be reading the ppt only . We can do that also why we are paying that much fees just to learn from a teacher who is just reading the slides.

Course Curriculum Overview:

i would rate the course curriculum as largely relevant and fairly comprehensive,. one of the main reasons i chose this course was the balance between conceptual foundations and practical exposure. the curricuum supports future academic growth since many of the modules introduce us to advance topics early, making it easier to explore research. some topics feel slightly outdated and could be aligned better with the current industry skills and technologies. the exam schedule is manageable, though sometimes multiple assessments happen in the same week or same day, ehich adds pressure . Spacing out evaluations a bit more and giving clearer rubrics could improve the overall experience

Honest is the best Policy

I was getting addmission in some other private colleges but this was near to me and had a great rew.. Its infra and hostels are really worth it. I had a really nice percentile of 98.9 in jee mains but what happend is i intentionally wanted to score 69 in boards i didnt know about the 75 percent jee mains criteria i got 69.7 i like to call it 69.69 but i messed up so i applied in vit as well and srm and thapar i got in all of them after giving there respective tests on the same fees but i chose thapar was better after some consultation with my relatives who are in this field and know people in this field i got admission in the end on basis on jee only in thapar and the experience is well...Read More
