Remarks

The college management sometimes lacked precision in carrying out official tasks but overall, my experience at Venkateswara has been great.

Entrance Preview

I opted for this college because I had received great feedback about it from friends. Upon doing a little research I found out that their faculty for my course, i.e. English Literature is quite good. Moreover, I really wanted a south campus college and Venkateswara is the best of them.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

In order to assess the course curriculum, I would like to mention that the prescribed syllabus was not decided by the college but the university. The college adhered to the university guidelines and the college professors executed their tasks diligently by assisting us with any queries/issues on the prescribed tutorial days.

Internships Opportunities

I am certain that various courses in my college provide opportunities for internship. However, I am incapable of mentioning the particulars of these internships as I never opted for one.

Placement Experience

4

There are some really attractive placements and job opportunities that keep presenting themselves. But these opportunities are scarce and often involve too rigorous a selection process. Good placements and job opportunities at Venkateswara college are hard to come by.

College Events

5

Sri Venkateswara College has always been big on co-curricular activities. Every day on the campus you'd observe some competition being organized. Students heartily partake in the execution of various co-curricular activities like debate, singing, dancing, sports, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is quite feasible. It is comparatively higher than some other colleges of Delhi University but that is only fair, provided the infrastructure and other facilities the students of Venkateswara college can avail. The course fee is collected in two installments.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers a scholarship to diligent students of obc/sc/st reservation criteria. Other scholarships offered by the college are susceptible to change.

Campus Life

4

Sri Venkateswara College has a salubrious and picturesque campus. The canteen area is one of my favorites as it is surrounded by plants and extremely attractive places to sit. The gender ratio is favorable and students from every part of the country can be seen on the campus.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

I would say that the hostel facility is quite excellent. Getting a hostel seat is considerably hard and not everyone can avail the offer. The food quality is great and hygienic. Hostels are kept clean and students get access to facilities like the gym and library.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network and senior students are quite helpful and congenial. They are very friendly and informative.

Exam Structure

The exams were not cumbersome and did not cause any unnecessary stress among students. We were assigned presentations which were carried out in a smooth manner. Sometimes, getting the admit card would prove to be an exhausting process but the rest was never anything to worry about.

Admission

The admission process for a master's degree at Delhi University is two-fold. For students of Delhi University, both the options are available in the form of entrance exam and merit-list selection. Students who did not previously study in DU can only go for entrance test based admission. I got in through Entrance test.

Faculty

5

The faculty of my college was undoubtedly extremely talented and helpful. However, I would like to mention that most of the classes for Master's students were held not in the respective colleges of students but at north and south campus arts faculties. Even though students met their college professors once a week, major interaction would only occur with arts faculty professors.

Course Curriculum Overview:

For the course i must say that this is something everyone needs to study about even if it's for just a part. We have ethics, moral, cultural relativism and etc. In our syllabus and it all really help to make our thinking rational, to see World from that point of view from where one can see the clarity. It's really necessary for improvement in personality and making good decision. I think there's need for making this course more practical like teaching, we can teach students about essentials of philosophy for there betterment of decision making from an early age.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is very relevant and covers all the history topics comprehensively. The study material is very good as many upsc aspirants and students preparing for competitive exams refer it. Though the curriculum can be improved by limiting and only adding the essential topics in it. There is too much of unnecessary information which makes it difficult to understand at times.
