campus life in cusat is very good. the friends and the whole experience helps in the character development too
campus infrastructure is nice. the campus is very big with a lot of departments for each course.

Dislikes

some teaching staff are not that good in teaching and self learning is the only way to study some subjects which puts pressure on the student
exams are hectic and puts the student at pressure
university doesnt respond much on an issue until there's a strike on the issue by a political party

Course Curriculum Overview

this course is perfect for all the electronic aspirants out there. but there are a lot of downsides in this course in this college as not every staff is as helpful as you think. there is little to none spoonfeeding in this college. exam frequency is bit weird too as its too hectic to manage and labs are literally self taught work and no help from staff in the labs. teachers should improve to help students who are lagging in academics.

Internships Opportunities

internships should be done in semester 3 and semester 5 and should be done by the student on his own without the help of college. college placements are the only opportunity here. other ways to get placed is to join a student run group which boosts your knowledge and interest on the subjects you like and participating in events so that companies visiting the event will notice your work

Fees and Financial Aid

for reservations the fee structure is lenient but for general category the fees is a bit high for the all india merit seat. there are a lot of scholarships for the financially backward students and can be availed through applying for it. campus employment opportunities is a bit low since the high competition

Campus Life

campus life is very good. there are a lot of stuff happening everyday for the students interests and can take part. university library has every book from academics to novels. classrooms are ok-ish just like a normal class. there are a lot of student run social groups for students to learn new stuff.

Admission

admission process was smooth and well planned. all the reservation benefits was availed and the application forms were all available in the official website itself. entrance exam was comparatively easier compared to kerala entrance exam and cutoff was the lowest this year.

from semister 6 students become eligible for campus placements and companies loke bank of america , google microsoft etc visited for campus placements and the highest package is about 54 lakhs where as average is 11 lakhs and about 98% of the students are placed

Placement Experience:

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Placement Experience:

As of what i spoke to the seniors they said that AI students got better placements compared to Core students and the average package is around 9LPA for CSE branches students and 7LPA overall for all the branches and there is CIR foundation classes where they teach us how to improve our communication skills and How to create a resume right from first year itself according to seniors it is very helpfull

An aspiring first year student’s review

Placement Experience:

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.

My journey at CUSAT: A students perspective

I also wrote KEAM exam along with CUSAT in which I was able to secure a rank well enough to get Mechanical Engineering in CET, Trivandrum which I got in allotment. But since my mind was already set to take ECE as my degree due to my interest and passion for electronics and computers. And yes I do recomment CUSAT to everyone. To join CUSAT you have to write the CUSAT CAT entrance exams and then the seat are allotted based on the rank you earn in the entrance examinations. And usually a rank around 1k can get you CS, 1.5k can get you ECE and SFE, 2k can get you IT, 3.5k can get you EE and 7k can get you ME and CE....Read More
