Exploring excellence in Dyal Singh College

The course curriculum was based on various subjects which includes: biochemistry, anatomy, ecology, physiology, genetics, molecular biology, and many more. Personally, my experience was good because the scheduled curriculum was upto my expectations pursuing this course. We had theory and practical classes for every subject and the practicals really helped me to gain hands on experience on various biological techniques which helped me further. The teachers are really knowlwgdeable and helpful. The teaching methods are very rare and comprehensive since the teachers try to teach us with practical exposure rather than only focussing on the theoretical portion.

The internship opportunity which I got was the role of a research intern under my college professor. The internship was unpaid but it got me a certificate which is highly valuable in my future prospects. I was working under some students also who were pursuing their PhD. I was suppose to make a dissertation project for which I got appreciated also.

The fee structure is very pocket friendly as even the people with low economic background can also afford to send their kids to this college. The annual fees for this course ranges between 10k-20k and no hidden charges are there. The fee structure for reserved class has subsidiary benefits as they get scholarships and their fees ranges between 5k-9k per annum. I didnot take any campus placements as I aim to pursue higher education.

The campus life is exciting as the campus is very big because it has one morning building and one evening college building. The fest is held annually named "Priyadarshini" and it is the largest fest of our college. There are many clubs to join in the college as per your preference like rotaract club, dance club, music club, eco club and many more. The classrooms are equipped with smartboards and they are very spacious. There are a lot of extracurricular and sports activities in our college like Volleyball, Football, Cricket. There is a student union council which is run by students only.

The admission was based on merit scores of class 12th boards examination. I scored 89% in my boards and I was eligible for B.Sc(Hons) Zoology in Dyal Singh College, Delhi University. The admission process was solely online and no offline applications were being accepted at that time because of Covid. I didnot avail any reservation benefits though it was available and one can check that on the college website. The examinations are held on semester basis, in between we use to have small class tests and assignments which were also graded followed by end semester examination. The admission process can be made more transparent to help the students analyse their status of admission.
