Course Curriculum Overview
The updated curriculum offers exciting new course combinations like economics with computer science, along with supplementary courses to enhance skills. However, challenges include disorganized schedules, a need for improved teaching methods, and unpredictable exams diverging from course material, frustrating students.
Internships Opportunities
Our college provides diverse internship opportunities with renowned companies such as hcl, tcs etc. Roles offered include marketing intern, research assistant, and software developer, among others, with competitive stipends. Projects range from market analysis to software development, yielding tangible outcomes benefiting both students and companies.
Placement Experience
Our college's placement scene is quite robust, although we don't have campus placements per se. Students typically become eligible for internships and off-campus placements starting from the fifth semester onwards. Various reputable companies, including tech giants and financial institutions, visit our campus to recruit students. While the number of offers made varies each year, the average package hovers around X per annum, with some companies offering significantly higher packages based on the profile offered. Although we don't have exact figures for the percentage of students placed, a substantial portion of our graduating class secures placements through off-campus drives and internships. As for my plans post-graduation, I aim to pursue further studies or gain industry experience through internships to enhance my employability and broaden my career prospects.
Fees and Financial Aid
At Delhi University, investing in your education pays off. For my BA program in Economics + Computer Application, the annual tuition fee is approximately ?11,415, slightly higher due to the practical computer component. Financial aid is available, with scholarships for families earning less than 4 lakh annually, covering up to half of the fees. Beyond academics, the college offers diverse opportunities. The placement cell facilitates job placements and internships, while various societies cater to interests like debating, marketing, and dance. For community-minded students, the National Service Scheme offers fulfilling avenues for giving back.
Campus Life
Life at Delhi University's Dyal Singh Evening College is a vibrant tapestry of festivals and academic resources. From the renowned Rhapsody fest to departmental events, celebrations abound. The library offers a tranquil oasis for studying, with a rich collection of books, magazines, and digital resources in the serene E-library.
Admission
Getting into our college is a straightforward process. It primarily relies on the CUET entrance exam, supplemented by the 12th board exam percentage if necessary. Any student who has cleared their 12th boards is eligible to take the exam. To apply, simply visit cuet.samarth.ac.in and complete the application form. The application fee varies depending on the number of subjects chosen for the entrance exam. Typically, the application window opens in early March and closes by mid-March, with occasional correction windows available. We also have reservation policies in place, accommodating scheduled castes, tribes, other backward classes, and students from army backgrounds. Additionally, certain colleges within DU, such as St. Stephen's College and Jesus and Mary College, offer reservations for Christian minorities. The exam is conducted semester-wise.
