Remarks

BAD: Maintenance of our college is not that much good and it's still under construction. GOOD: There are drawbacks in our college but still you can enjoy a lot if you have a big friend circle who are best in studies as well as enjoying the moment.

Entrance Preview

Actually, i want to do B.Sc Statistics hons which is offered by only 9 colleges in Delhi University. I had applied through ECA quota in many colleges and finally I was able to get admission. That time I was not concerned about which college I am getting but was fortunate to get admission in the course I want to study. In DU, you will always listen from an off-campus student that no need to worry about which college you are getting, you will get a degree from Delhi University. Keeping this in mind, I opt for this college. And metro is also reaching there in just few months with metro station named Vinoba Puri on pink line. Otherwise you can go to Moolchand and Lajpat Nagar Metro Station by taking auto on sharing. You can also get here through DTC buses. So for me it was convenient to reach here. That's the another reason to opt for this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

B.Sc. Statistics is not that much popular among students but in future it will be in high demand. After completing masters in this course you can get job as an analyst which is a high profile job. If you are not interested to go to masters level, you can also do actuarial side by side while completing graduation. You can learn R or any other software for data analysis also as it is in the syllabus of this course. Course Structure is not that much good as less focus on practical things. But you can attend workshops and all to increase your practical knowledge. And there are also elective subject GE you have to opt for 2 years and you will get a minor degree in that subject.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, there is an active placement cell in our college which provide internship opportunities from time to time. And at end of semester, internship fairs are organised with opportunities mostly from startups, NGOs and NPOs. I have not taken part in internships, so can't tell about any experience.

Placement Experience

2.5

There is an active placement cell in our college which provide placement opportunities from time to time. And at end of semester, recruitment drives are organised. If you want placement you can go for interviews. As in my course, master degree is required for decent job opportunities.

College Events

3

There is an annual fest AAGHAZ, attending these fests will be your best memories of college life. Never miss these fest because of your studies as it's college life, having fun is also important as studies. At least you have not to regret that you have not enjoyed your college life. Maybe, not that much famous celebrity is coming in your college but still, when you are with your friends you will enjoy a lot. Many food stalls will also be there. Not only annual fest, every college department oraganises it's own fest. You can also act as an executive member in fest of your own department and will get precious memories and experience to work with your classmates and seniors.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As you know all colleges in DU comes under government so fees are feasible as in our college it's around 14k per year which is less than any private college. But in DU our college fees is higher than other colleges of DU i.e. approximately 9k. But its feasible for any middle class family. There are scholarship options for reserved category students also.

Fees and Financial Aid

No loan facilities are provided upto my knowledge. Scholarship are provided only for reserved category. I don't have that much knowledge about this.

Campus Life

4.5

Gender Ratio is somewhat equal in my class. I have not heard of any ragging case till now in our college. During elections, you will have to face some candidates, they will just say 'vote and support' infinite times. They will throw their poster everywhere and sometimes you can also get chocolates, movie tickets etc. as a bribe and notebooks, pens for advertisement. Workshops are help from time to time and you will get notifications about those workshops through your Class whatsapp group. There are active cultural societies of dance, music, art, photography etc. There are many sports like volleyball, cricket, table tennis, basketball and football. You can get a carrom board for your liesure time also. There are computer labs and statistics lab too.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

In DU, at every canteen you will get food at subsidized rate, so not that much expensive and food quality is not bad. There is also another canteen at backside of college, and mother diary shop too. You can get what you want to eat. No hostel facilities are here but you can get PGs in Nehru Nagar or Amar Colony.

Alumni/Alumna

As i have taken part in fests, so we are friendly with our seniors. They are always ready to help us in need. They also help us to clear our queries and provide notes and past year question papers. They also guide us through the syllabus.

Exam Structure

There are semester wise examinations, 1st,3rd and 5th semester exams in December and 2nd, 4th and 6th semester exams in May. Practicals are conducted one month before exams. And internals can be anytime when your Professor want. Final examination is of 75 marks and other 25 marks are of internals, assignment and attendance. Practicals are of 50 marks.

Admission

I had applied through ECA quota in many colleges and finally I was able to get admission. I had applied here through creative writing hindi. For ECA you have to go through 2 round of trials. And after this you will get ranks and with these ranks you have to apply in different colleges(not online). Just for example, I was able to secure 17 rank in Hindi Creative Writing. I had applied in PGDAV, LSR, RLA and Venky but I was not able to get admissions in other college as someone with better rank than me had also applied in that college. ECA list comes on the respective college site and admission process will be somewhat same as you are getting admission through merit list, just you have to verify your documents with the Cultural Head.

Faculty

3

Faculty of our College is somewhat nice. As you all are also searching for reviews, I was also reading reviews about this college and get to know that the faculty is good. And yes, it's good. But you can not predict about the nature of guest teachers. Syllabus is not that much vast, you just need notes, faculty doesn't matter much.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The core subjects are very well divided, the main problem arises with the other additional subjects which requires efforts as same as the other subject even though they don't hold any importance as such. Maybe reducing other subject or making them practical based instead of theory based would be helpful.

The placements of my college are moderate as the average package is ?6.5 lakhs and the highest package is around ?23.02 lakhs . Many prestigious companies like delloite, accenture have held various placement sessions in DRC and it's overall a good to place for companies to get high skilled students. The placement cell is very active too which makes it possible for our college to get many internships and placements opportunities.

The Fest organised by this college is Priyadarshini and the annual fest Rajnigandha. The Fest are not great in comparison to other du college and are not that much celebrated. There are many different kinds books present in library like literature,Hindi, Chemistry, Maths, zoology, biology, botany, political science, History Geography the books are only alloted till 12pm and only for 15 days after that you will be charged if book is not returned Sports and Extracurricular are good but classrooms are not that great most projectors in classrooms don't work . There are many good societies in college like jamini the art society and others but joining has caused students to leave their classes which affects them academically

The placements cell Avenues regarding the placement offers coming to the college. Major companies of the job market come to the campus for recruitment like KPMG, deloitte, zepto, EY, ZS Associates and many more. The students from the final year itself gets eligible for placements. Around 30-40% students get the palcements through the placement drive. The highest package during the last palcement season was around 18 to 20LPA, while the average was 7 to 8LPA. I will certainly go for higher studies in operational research.
