I liked the social presence that is built in the college through communication.

I disliked the fee structure of the college, and the way they keep on increasing the fee.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum has been set as per the norms of IITs and I am in the CSBS branch here, which offers me a variety of Computer science and Business Systems, providing me with a scope in business in the future. There are workshops organized timely, which offer you the knowledge of real-world machines. As of now, I don't think of any improvements, and i think that the academics are no lesser than IITs here.

Class Size: 80Course Fees: INR 700000 per year

Placement Experience

The students became eligible for internships from the 4th sem itself, and are provided with options for internships in various companies. Many Companies have visited the campus the campus last year too, like Ola, TATA, Paytm, Accenture, Infosys etc. and have offered good packages to the students. The highest on-campus placement was around 54 lacs this year.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee currently is 2.5 lac for the sem, and it increases at a 10% rate every year, and regarding the facilities provided, the architecture is top-class, the hostels are very good, and all the services provided are awesome. There are separate fees for a hostel, mess, and academics which all come under the above-mentioned prices. Scholarships are provided based on merit and CGPA annually to deserving students of around 1.4, and 1.8 lacs.

Campus Life

The college offers many clubs to be a part of, there are around 50 student-run clubs in the college, where you can be a part of, and explore your interests. The annual fest, Saturnalia, is organized by these students too, which usually happens in November end, and is a delight to be part of. The college offers one of the biggest libraries in Asia, NAVA NALANDA LIBRARY, and has a lot of books of every field, which is available for students every time. The college provides complete sports articles and organises a sports fest every year and encourages athletics from time to time.

Admission

The course of B.Tech is available for students who have done their 12th class with PCM subject, and are looking for future in Engineering. I found the application form on their website, it was round 1200/-rs and was available around the time I completed my JEE exam. There are reservations for Punjab Students under "PUNJAB QUOTA". In the college, academics are very good, so it was quite diificult for me to also pass through and I am glad that it has worked for me. The college should focus on the arrangements at the time of allocation of branches and make it little more transparent.

supportive campus environment with the comfortable in the classess

placements at my college are very very good, as everybody gets the chance to sit for the placements at the same level. we get the placement oportunities at the 6th semster also. in my brancg it is very good

A Vibrant Campus with good learning and great opportunities

Likes

good infrastructure , large libraries and practical labs
helpful and large opportunities in campus

Dislikes

class size can be large , it helps every child to interact
academic work is quite high , the schedule may feel hectic especially during examination

The curriculum is relevant and covers core cse subjects like programing DSA and DBMS . it provides good fundamental for placements and further studies , more practical projects and industry based teaching would improve it .

Chandigarh University provides campus placement opportunities to students, especially during the later semesters of courses. Students get opportunities to participate in drives conducted by companies from different sectors, including IT and software

The infrastructure is great with state of the art labs and equipment
The library is really nice place to study
Lots of hangout spots in and around campus

Less opportunities for core branches as less core companies visit campus
75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

I like the most about the college the placement criteria and the way built your confidence
Also the hostel is very good and provide food 4 times

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Good infrastructure, campus and faculty. Have to improve placements and industrial visits.

Likes

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

I applied to IGDTUW , VIT vellore and other colleges i got into both in VIT i got CS but it was too far away plus the placement percentage there is comparatively low and IGDTUW i didn't have mg prefered branch. i got selected to VIT vellore , but as i belong to punjab, and the level of VIT and TIET is the same, i preffered TIET i could even get a lower branch at NITJ (95%ile), but i did not want to compromise on my branch. admission process - you fill up an online form where you fill hostel preferances (like branch and college preferances in JoSAA) from thr options of hostels available for you (J, H, FRF and FRG for boys, I G E and PG for girls). you come here acc to time slot given to you acc to your percentile or boards percentage you are called into the main audi you get alloted a hostel there you fill up some forms, pay the mess fee, hostel fee and course fee in there go to hostel get your room keys and mess card issued then setup your room...Read More

I applied for VIT and SRM but didn't take admission due to poor quality of placements and peer group. I am from the General Outside Punjab quota.
