Course Curriculum Overview
I have always loved Political Science as a subject. Its dynamic nature is something that attracts me the most towards it. It is useful is almost all respects of you life, interrelated with other subjects. It is important to know a basic rights duties and historical background of a country that the subject teachs us. When we are aware of our rights, duties, provisions, laws, no one can make a fool of use, and this paper teaches you exactly that. The exams are also of good level that push us towards learning and putting in extra effort in it. The faculty of political science at DRC is amazing, well qualified, friendly, understanding, and great at teaching. There will never be an instance when they won't support you or help you out. The best bond I have with someone in college are the faculty members.
Internships Opportunities
I was always focused on law and didn't really opt for internships but many of friends did and the roles offered are diverse. From content creation to designing, to HR to management, to research, to finance, marketing etc. You name it and we have had offers for that position.
Placement Experience
The college placements are also great. Some of the seniors have been selected by MNCs such as Deloitte, Accenture etc. You can enroll yourself for internships from the first year itself and for placements in the final year. DRC has the highest placement percentage in north campus as per the naac database. The highest package offered was of more than 20lacs, with average between the 10-15lacs. Tge professors personally bring and motivate you for internships. Under NEP , mentor mentee groups were formed in my college in which each professors personally guide a group of 10-12 students regarding academics, placements, internships, researchs etc. The ethos is very friendly and motivating.
Fees and Financial Aid
The course is quite affordable with an yearly fee of 14.5k Rs. There are many scholarships provided to girl students in DU and DRC to help out financially. The VC office also releases monthly internshipss for students with monetory benefits. The college provides several internships opportunities to students for the same.
Campus Life
My years in DRC have been the most wonderful ywars of my life. The college is full of social life, activities, fests etc. By being in the north campus we have access to few of the best fests in DU such as of Hindu College. Our college also organises fest with full dedication. Last year we have Shubh and Inder Chahal, this year we had battle of bands, and akhil with manyyyyy more exciting competitions and events. This was the Annual Fest, similarly all the departments and societies have their own fests twice a year. The social life is very happening at Daulat Ram College. You can be a part of as many societies and clubs as you want to woth each of them helping you grow in different aspects of life.
Admission
During my admission process, there was no CUET or NEP. My admission was done solely based on my 12th grades. Even though I scored 97.75% in 12th, the competition for admission in Political Science Hons. at DRC was very very high. The application was easily available on the University website and was very easy to fill. I did not avail any reservation as I come under UR category but if you belong to any category you should take the benefit of it as even few marks in the points combined with you reservation can bring you up several ranks in the college. While considering cuet ug, the level of the exam was standard and easy to attempt. I had a talk with my juniors and all of them found the paper easy. Practice was the key in their preparation.
