Remarks

Overall VJTI is better than all other institutions in the state because of all the great facilities they provide at such an affordable price. College management listens carefully to all the students' concerns and problems. You can request for new facilities or to improve current facilities without hesitation. VJTI is a great place.

Entrance Preview

I took MHT-CET back in 2016 and scored 120 in the exam. I chose VJTI because of the quality of the college. Mumbai city was also a major factor in this decision making process. I chose Textile Technology course because of my interest in technology.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is really good. We are taught all the basics of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in the first year. From second year onwards they start teaching course related subjects. All the basics related to your branch are taugh in the second year of college. With third year comes more advanced concepts focusing on research. A research project is mandatory in final year.

Internships Opportunities

Internship is provided by the HOD of respective department. We are referred by the HOD and encouraged to go for our first internship at the end of second year itself. Companies like Raymond, Rieters, Siyarams and TATA mills are available for doing an internship. Stipend is sometimes given but the experience one gains at the internship matters more.

Placement Experience

4

Textile Technology students got 100% placements this year excluding the students who went abroad for studying MS. Trust me, Textile field is really good for job opportunities. The lowest package was somewhere around 3.5 lpa and the highest package was 15 lpa. Companies like Reliance, Well-known polyester, Raymond came to offer jobs to graduates.

College Events

4.5

Cultural events are a great deal at VJTI. We have dance, music, sports, technology and fun at VJTI. Events are namely Technovanza, Pratibimb, Start-up Networking Conference, Enthusia sports event and many guest lectures by famous people such as Nana Patekar, Simon Taufel, Suresh Prabhu, Manohar Parrikar, Makrand Anaspure, Guru Gaur Gopal Das and APJ Abdul Kalam.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees at VJTI is affordable because it is a state government funded college. The facilities provided are very good - Air-conditioned classrooms with projectors, etc. Sports facilities include football ground, cricket ground and a tennis court which is under construction at this point in time.

Fees and Financial Aid

College offers schemes such as earn and learn, Government scholarships and other scholarships. You can avail all these schemes at the scholarship section in the college. The scholarship department is really well connected to all the students. They have social media handles through which they communicate with all students. They also organize seminars on scholarship and other loan schemes for students.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is very pleasant at VJTI. You can enjoy and collect some of the best memories of your life with great people of VJTI. You can always hangout at VJTI canteen when you're not supposed to be in the classroom. Gender ratio is balanced here at VJTI. People from different parts of the country come and study at VJTI. I have a few friends from different states. Extracurricular activities are a completely different experience at VJTI. You will enjoy to the fullest in here because of all the events organised by students with students for students. VJTI is not just a college it is a community.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel is good and affordable in a city like Mumbai. Mess food is better than other mess facilities around the city. There are 3 people in one room. Girls hostel is newly constructed with a lot of modern facilities - Washing machine, etc. Wi-Fi is provided at the hostel but it is limited. You can find students playing cricket and football at the hostel grounds after college hours. hostel life is really fun.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors at VJTI are really helpful. They are your brothers and sisters when you are away from home. They don't let you feel alone and always help you. Academics or extracurricular, seniors are always there to show you the right path to achieve your goals. Alumni network is really strong. Our alumni are all over the world working in some of the best firms in the world. They are really helpful when it comes to recommendation for a job or course abroad.

Exam Structure

Exams at VJTI are a very chilled out affair. You don't have to appear for too many exams. There are only 2 exams per semester. One is of 40 marks and the final is of 100 marks. No lab exams from second year. Only VIVA is taken at the end of lab course. It is really easy to score.

Admission

I got admission in VJTI through the CAP allotment process. The process consist of 4 CAP rounds. I filled in a list of about 40 colleges in my option form. Each CAP round decided which seat we got depending upon the state rank. The CAP allotment process is a bit hectic because of all the time you have to spend running around to find the necessary documents required for applying to colleges.

Faculty

4

The faculty here is mostly PhD graduates, so they are quite good at teaching because of all the experience. They solve your doubts not only curriculum related but also related to career decision and future possibilities. Be in the good books of the faculty as they provide you with good recommendations for job as well as studying MS abroad. You should maintain good contact with the faculties and they take nice care of you.
