Remarks

One the best college in Maharashtra for B.Tech but one should avoid it if you are doing M.Tech.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I would say my course is not upto the mark needs a much needed update in syllabus, staff is not upto the mark they are not qualified for the job the college should train the staff and focus more on practical teaching, experiments, case studies, infrastructure also needs an upgrade.

Placement Experience

4

For MTech the placement is very poor i. e less than 50% and only 2-3 students get proper job rest have to settle for IT companies but for Btech it is among the best in the Maharashtra state.

College Events

4

Hackathon, since I am PG student I am not much aware about the technical events and PG students generally do not participate in any technical events, so sorry I can't give a proper answer to this question, Btech student is appropriate to give you answer to this question.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is around ?85, 000 (approx), I think fees is affordable you can pay either by Demand Draft (DD) or online, I did not have to pay any additional fees apart from course fee, the fee structure is very elaborated and transparent and probably it is also available on our college website.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did not opt for any loan but the college does have a bank inside the campus which provides education loans to the needy students moreover we have PG scholarship program from AICTE which gives us ?12, 400 per month for maximum of 24 months you should be GATE qualified to avail this scholarship or stipend but Government of India scrapped this scholarship from academic year 2020-21 onwards.

Campus Life

2.5

Campus life is very good, gender ratio is also good, the college encourages student to participate in various extracurricular and technical activities as the college understands that this activities are very important for overall growth of the students.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, alumni is very good, we even share a common whatsapp group with the alumni where they inform us about upcoming jobs and opportunities.

Admission

Through GATE score and DTE maharashtra conducted admission drive through online form filling and CAP rounds which allowed us to choose many options and DTE gave us seats as per our merit and preferences, the higher preference courses should be kept at top of the list.

Faculty

0.5

Total number of lecturers are around 6 per semester and most of them are above 40 years of age, most of the professors are PHD holders apart from couple of them who are Mtech degree holders, most of them are not up to date with the new developments in our field and our syllabus is outdated.

Remarks:

If DIAT can provide placements, this is one area where DIAT lacks. Other than this DIAT is a college that is comparable to the IITs, better than NITs for post-graduation courses for sure. Since this college is regarded as one of the DRDO colleges, it provides very good opportunities for research.

Entrance Preview:

To pursue post-graduation in IIT, you have to clear the gate examination. After scoring a good percentile you will get calls from various colleges where you will have to face the interview. I scored 99.5 percentile in the GATE exam and being the best institute for technology, I chose IIT Powai despite being selected for many other IIT.

College managements were really good. We were provided the internal bus facility to avail. We also had bus passes because we used to walk a lot within the campus only. I must say that everybody must see the IITB once because it is heaven.
