To pursue post-graduation in IIT, you have to clear the gate examination. After scoring a good percentile you will get calls from various colleges where you will have to face the interview. I scored 99.5 percentile in the GATE exam and being the best institute for technology, I chose IIT Powai despite being selected for many other IIT.

The course structure is perfectly designed. In the first two semesters, you will have to complete 10 courses. Preceding two semesters will be fully dedicated to your project work. You can also choose the courses of some other departments based on your interest and requirements in your project work.

Yes, Internships are also there in the college. Many foreign students come to our college under the semester exchange program. The stipend depends on the department in which you are doing an internship.

There are tremendous job opportunities once you are about to finish your degree. December 1st week is placement phase 1, in which nearly 400 companies visit the campus for recruitment. The average pay is around 6 to 7 Lacs per annum. In all, about 90 percent of the total students who apply for jobs get placed every year.

The most popular event in our college is Mood indigo. The event is the cultural event which is organized in December month of every year. The event goes on for 4 days. Many students from all over India visit the campus during mood indigo. This year nearly 10 lacs students visited the event.

Yes, there are many scholarships that are awarded to students. Also, if anyone wants to go to some foreign universities, he can go easily by applying for the semester exchange program.

The campus life is very good and healthy. Here you come to meet the students from not only all the corners of India but also from other countries. There are various clubs like fashion clubs, technical clubs where you get the opportunity to show your talent.

There is a separate alumni club in our college. This club is very useful. Alumni coordinate students during the placement preparation which boosts the confidence among students.

The exam structure depends completely on the subject teacher. He has total freedom to decide the course curriculum. Students also can give suggestions or request for any change in exam pattern and marks distribution. Generally, there is one mid sem exam for 30 marks which is scheduled after 2 months from the sem start date. After the end of sem, there will be final end sem exam for 50 marks.

After scoring well in the GATE exam, I applied for all the IIT's. The application process is online and starts immediately after the results are out. Based on your score, you will get calls from various departments of IIT. Based on your final interview score, you will be selected for the course.

The faculties are very highly qualified. Most of them have bachelor's degrees from IITs. Then they have a Ph.D. degree pursued from foreign universities. The postdoc is also compulsory for all the faculties which are one-year courses after the completion of a Ph.D. degree.
