Course Curriculum Overview

4

1. I had completed Diploma in Electrical Engineering so Btech in Electrical Engineering was my relevant field of study. Apart from that Electrical Engineering has a very good career prospects in recent times and Electrical Engineering seemed very interesting to me during my diploma days. 2. For every 180 students we have faculties of 12. Every subject is taught by 2-3 different teachers in a semester. 3. The minimum qualification to be a faculty of our college is M.Tech. but most of our teachers have PhD degree. So it can be said that they are very qualified. Their teaching method is application based. 4.apart from semester exam 4 Continuous assessment (CA) is conducted. Each of 25 marks. CA1 - Presentation skill test CA2 - Report writing skill test CA3 - Written exam CA4 - Centralised online test

3.5

1. Different companies like CESC, MN Dastur ,TDK offer internship based on semester marks and different performances and interview. 2. Different Roles and projects are offered and required for different companies.

Placement Experience

3.5

1. Students become eligible for campus placement from 7th semester. 2. Last year companies like Tata Power, L&T, TCS, Tech Mahindra visited and total numbers of offers made are around 150. 3. Highest on campus package was 12 LPA. Average package is around 4LPA. 4. Percentage of students getting placement is 60%. 5. I am targeting for placement as well as focusing on different competitive examinations like GATE and ESE.

Fees and Financial Aid

1. As it is a government college fees are almost constant every year. Annual fees for different branches vary. Cost to study is very minimum. 2. I got Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means(SVMCM) Scholarship of 60000rs/year. I got full freeship in which I am exempted from giving annual fees.

Campus Life

4

1. Annual festival - ESPEKTRO (MARCH) Technical Festival - TECHTIX (MARCH) Along with Freshers Welcome, Farewell etc. 2. Library has a wide rang of books but journals are not available. Books are accessible by everyone with library card. 3. Every class has a projector and screen for smart study and black board. Computers are available in different labs. 4. Annual sports event is held during College Festival. Apart from that inter hostel and inter college sports events are also held. 5. Different clubs with different objectives are available. Coding club, music club, dance club, math club etc. clubs are useful to build and nurture different fields of interests.

Hostel Facilities

4

1. Facilities in the room - i. LAN port with unlimited free internet. ii. 1 personal sockets for each broader and 1 common switch board. iii. 2 fans and tubelight per room. iv. 2 meals a day. 2. Meal quality is pretty average. Menu can be decided from vote of students. 3. One have to register for hostel during admission. Hostel is pretty affordable. It is only 2000rs/month 4. I did not rent room but locality is good with good people and good environment.

Admission

1. For admission in first year one must have completed 12th with Phyisics, Chemistry and Mathematics and they have to appear in West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE). If wbjee rank is below 3000 one has good chance to take admission in this college. For admission in 2nd year (lateral entry) one must have completed 3 yeal diploma in engineering and they have to appear in Joint Entrance Lateral Entry Test (JELET) and have to secure a rank below 300 to get a good chance for admission in this college. 2. Application form can be found in WBJEE official westsite. Application fees and dates can be found in our college official website. 3. Reseved categories get a chance to admission even with higher rank because their cutoff mark is relatively low. 4. Admission process should be fast.

Placement Experience:

I’d rate HIT’s placement opportunities as 7.5/10 overall. It’s very good for CSE, IT, and ECE, decent for Electrical and core branches, and improving every year with more companies visiting and better preparation programs. If you’re skilled and consistent — especially in coding, communication, and aptitude — you’ll almost certainly get placed before graduatin

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months
