What Students Say

Likes

The campus is beautiful and so silent as a studing environment.
The faculties are great who teaches us from their valuable experiences.
The college is beside Adisaptagram Station. The regular students can journey to college though train.

Dislikes

The toilet system of AOT is so poor. There is only one toilet in each building. If they increase the number of toilets it will be helpful to students.
The hostel fees is very high to afford a student who belongs in a middle class family.

The students who loves to know new technologys, they can study b tech in CSE. Here in AOT the faculties are so concern about the studies of students. Many of teachers are from IITs and they have a lot of experiences of teaching. But under MAKAUT here is pressure about your attendance.

Placement Experience

The placement cell offers students on campus placement to various companies. The average package students get from this college is around 3.5 lpa. Highest package goes upto 12lpa. Here core branch students also get IT jobs like CS branches.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course cost around 5 to 5.5 lakhs in the 4 years of journey. Anyone who can perform 60% numbers in a year they can get SVMCM scholarship which is 60k. The on campus placement is average and quite good. But a large number of the students of all streams get IT companies from on campus placement.

Campus Life

The campus life is very good. There is 5 blocks for the departments. The environment around the campus is so silent and greeny. So the students also get their attention into studies. The classrooms also very well. There is campus no clubs is there, but there are students chapters who organize various events online or offline.

Admission

You can get admission in AOT through wbjee. To get computer science and engineering you should secure about of 13000 rank and 25k rank for CSBS stream. Also you can go with the core streams like ECE,EE and ME. But here students get only IT companies in on campus placement.

Interview Experience

No there is only MCQ based exam which is WBJEE for this admission process. After the results the councelling process will start after some days. Then you should make a list of colleges and branches. Then the exact college which is coming to your rank upwards to downwards. Then the offline councelling process will be continued.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant and useful for us.They teach data structures algorithm that is very important for college placements and they also teach os, networks and other usefull things that is very important in computer science.They provide very high quality labs and the whole college has a good internet connection.Tecahers are very educated and good they helps us and teaching in very good way .The exams time schedule is also very good if there is any problem the college will change the exam date that is really a good thing.

Story of hit

Placement Experience:

The campus placement from recently past years is slightly good . Like tcs infosys cognizant ibm Capgemini like companies comes every year with good placement and capsitech gives you internship from 3 year . From 7th sem you are eligible for campus placement in 2025 the avg package is 5-7 lpa and Highest lpa is 75lpa . My plan is getting good job in good company

Placement Experience:

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months

NIT Durgapur:-A wholesome Insight in the college life and it's different aspects

Placement Experience:

For campus placements student become eligible from the 7th semester onwards and for internships student get eligible from 5th semester onwards. Wide no of companies visited our campus around 180+ and made around 580+ offers to the students. The highest salary was 58LPA which was offered by DE Shaw and the highest accepted salary was 51LPA in Microsoft.The average package rolls roughly around 10-12 LPA.The profile offered include SDE roles, management roles,finance in some cases.The overall placement percentage was around 80% with Branches like electrical and metallurgy moving above 90% followed by CSE and ECE in the mid 80s while for biotech and civil the placement percentage are generally below 70.My plans after getting the degree is to land a job offer from on campus placements.Therefafter maybe look out for and MBA from top B schools of india.

1)I applied to TMSL and heritage insitute of technology but i choose AOT over them because in tmsl there are no hostels and in heritage i got ece. 2)Admission to our college is through wbjee, jee mains,JELET (for lateral). no need to worry about admission process you just need all require documents and proofs to get admission. 3)From heritage i got rejection because i don't get cse there.(my rank was 10k). 4)mostly students came here through wbjee in 2025 cutoff of cse this year was approx 30 to 35k....Read More
