Course Curriculum Overview
I chose ECE here instead of other colleges in Kolkata even though I am into Tech because of the campus life and ece being one of the closely related branches to cs. The faculty to students ratio is like 1:3. Most of the professors here have their postgraduation from JU, IIEST, NITs and IITs. Few professors are very friendly with the students as if we are friends. The end sems usually take place in Decmeber and May. Faculties provide all the materials required to prepare for the exam so it's not very hard to pass.
Fees and Financial Aid
HITK charges almost 4 lakhs INR to pursue BTech under merit quota. In first sem the fees is 72200, followed by 44000 in second sem, 45100 in third & fourth sem, 46200 in fifth & sixth sem and 47300 in seventh & eighth sem respectively. The college doesn't provide any kind of financial assistance but if you are a domicile of West Bengal then you can apply for SVMCM scholarship or Fee Waiver scheme initiatives run by Government of West Bengal. You can also avail TFW scheme if you have the required rank.
Campus Life
The annual fest at HITK is ECLECIA and the tech fest is called DAKSH but both of which are in hiatus since the COVID 19 pandemic. The central library of HITK has over 50k books in it's inventory. You can get any book ranging from Basic sciences to AI. Many extra curricular activities take place through out the year at Heritage to let the students showcase their skills on diverse topics. At HITK there are 20+ clubs available for students to participate in.
Admission
The eligibility of the course is to have 60% in 12th boards. To get admission at Heritage Institute of Technology under merit quota, one must have to qualify Wbjee or Jee mains and then allocation will be totally done by the Wbjee board's councelling process. And besides that, one can also get admission through management quota(10% of the total intake) There are few seats reserved for SC and ST students who are domicile of West Bengal in all the branches. And there are also TFW seats available for West Bengal domicile students. The admission process as of now doesn't require any significant change for now.
