Likes

The events or the annual fest as i said was somewhat dope
The building looks nice not too fancy but ok.
Teachers are friendly and they help you if you face any problem

Dislikes

Toilet is nasty i mean really nasty they hardly clean it.
Theres no campus field like other colleges.
When the teachers skip classes and my transport cost goes in vain.

I chose this college as this the most prestigious college in west bengal. The student to faculty ratio is 1:90 The teachers are all phd holders but the teaching method in the day section can be improved ( as few of the classes are skipped by teachers ????). Dont know about the exam difficulty level as i am about to give my first sem exam.

Class Size: 92Course Fees: INR 1500 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is minimal though about 1500-2000 a year. The college does provide scholarships i dont know much in detail but it does provide scholarships, like need based, merit based, merit cum need based. But the amout is ummm lets not say.

Campus Life

Social life is good. Theres an event almost every other month. The annual sports meet both indoor and outdoor are held in the month of January The annual fest or QUEST is held in the month of december. There's no such clubs or anything like that The college has carrom room, and a table tennis room thats it for extracurricular activities. Apart from that the library is somewhat big and has many books.

Admission

The eligibility of the course (reality ) - In your 10+2 you need atleast 94% in your best four atleast. And for sc st students the cut off can be as low as 86-84 % in your best 4. To apply you need to go to their official website. There is 3 percent seat reserved for sc st students. I availed my reservation facility though i knew i do not need that but still extra precautions you know????.

Placement Experience:

Idk but i guess students become eligible from 2nd or 3rd sem. Idk what is the company visited but the placements are very good i heard that, avg package varies 2.4 lpa I guess. Right now i am doing internship so as of now i don't have plans.

Various companies come to this college for on campus placement Average package= 1000000 Highest package=2200000 Various multi national company and other big and small companies visit this college for on campus placement. Most of the students also get placement opportunities whether large or small package The opportunity is given to all degree whether it be bcom or bcom hons . Any student who does not get placed can easily use the degree to get a high paying off campus placements and to go to any good college or stay in this college for their post graduation.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is backdated and should be improvised as it doesn't give any exposure of present industry knowledge. The frequency of exams is that exams are held after 6 months on semester basis and are easy to pass and majority of the students pass this semester easily.

Decent government college which needs to improve.

Quite an Average Government College which lacks in infrastructure, faculty, and placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I mentioned, the course curriculum is outdated and no new industry knowledge is being taught. Projects and assignments are also bookish and are just for sake. Teaching methods by teachers are also bookish and backward. The frequency of exams are after every 6 months and are pretty manageable and easy.

Goenka college of commerce and business administration is the second best college in Kolkata and the best college under Calcutta University. Hence it has a brand value. Proud to be Goenkan

I got admission in Aliah University which is in New Town Kolkata I got rank 12. I applied in Shri Shikshathan College also and got admission in first list. I rejected both the colleges as Aliah University though it is a reputed college but the placement committee is not as good as Goenka College of commerce. I applied for BBA + MBA integrated program in Aliah University but I wanted to pursue BCom honours in accountancy and finance thus I rejected Aliah University. Shri shikshayatan college on the other hand is another reputed college in which I applied for bcom honours in accountancy and finance I rejected Shri shikshayatan college as no doubt Goenka College is way more better than Shree shikshayatan and Shri shikshayatan is comparatively very much expensive in comparison with goenka. Shri shikshayatan takes around 250000 tuition fee on the other hand Goenka College charges only 4090 rs for 4 years....Read More
