IIT kharagpur- Dream college for many

In the first year, all the students irrespective of their branches are made to study the same subjects. In the first sem I studied Advanced Calculus, Electrical Engineering , Mechanics, Physics of Waves subjects. The faculty here is just awesome. They try their best to make the topics clear to the students .There are around 100 students in each batch comprising of approximately 20% girls and the rest boys. In around a month and a half after the course began, mid sems were conducted and after a month the end sems were conducted. The difficulty level of the exam was moderate and so I passes the semester with a CG of 8.80.

Many companies visited in the campus for offering internships some of them being Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart, Make my Trip, Atlassian etc. They made offers for software, analytics, finance-banking,, core engineering etc roles. For getting the offer the students must have a catchy CV and good personality with a good level of thinking power and knowledge.

The placements in IIT kharagpur are way better than other colleges. From the 5th sem itself, the students get opportunities of doing internships in various big companies like amazon ,microsoft etc. The highest package offered was 1.8cr per annum and was offered to student of Computer science engineering. In B.Tech 83 percent of the students were placed at resonable packages. I plan to get a highly paid job offer after getting the degree.

For students of general category the total fees per year is around 2,94,000. For reserved candidates it is much less like for SC candidates the fees is 34000 per year just. Also there are scholarships for students whose family income is below a certain value. If the annual family income of the candidate is less than 5 lakhs then he has to pay just two third of the annual fees. And if the income is less than 100000 then he has to pay just one third of the fees. I am a first year student so I have not been offered with any job or internship.

LIfe at campus is just amazing. There are fests conducted which include Spring fest, Kshitij and Shourya which are very enjoyable. IIT kharagpur has the largest Library with thousands of booka and journals of different category. All the classrooms are well maintained and have basic amenities like projectors ,ac, fans etc. The sports culture of the institute is highly appreciable . Students have a wide range of sports options like swimming, basketball, cricket, volleyball etc. There are a number of clubs functional in the campus such as Ecell, debating society,literary society, chess club, anime society and many more. These societies are highly interactive for the students.

I have availed the hostel facility inside the campus . There are a number of hostels for boys and girls. They are well maintained and have basic facilities like washing machines. purifiers , study rooms, cantenes, and basic stores. Each room is well furnished with one cupboard, one bed and one study table for each student. Students live in 3-4 sharing. The mess is also quite appreciable . Each month the menu of the week changes. We had to fill a registration form for opting hostel while admission itself. The hostel fees is around 43000 per year.

I gave the JEE ADVANCED exam in order to get admission into IIT kharagpur. first of all, i appeared in JEE MAINS exam and gave two attempts. In one attempt I scored 99.57 percentile and in the other I scored 98.8 percentile. Then I appeared in JEE advanced in which I got AIR 4213. Then through JOSAA I sat in online seat allotment process in which I got ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING in IIT kharagpur.
