Very good college fest are good and every festival is celebrated.
Sports facilities are good, faculties are good.

Dislikes

You won't find shops open after 1 am in the whole city.
Campus is at quite a distance from main city.

Course Curriculum Overview

I Chose EEE as there is a lot of scope in electronics and I have interest in the course. There is 1 faculty per 45 students in my branch. Faculties are phd graduates from IITs like IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi etc. First semester is short so you have to study a bit extra, difficulty level is mid not too hard to pass.

Class Size: 46Course Fees: INR 149000 per year

Internships Opportunities

You can get internship in IT field, if you are good at coding, google offer internship as software developer you can also get internship in artificial intelligence and ML. If your CGPA is good you can do your final year projects at iit madras.

Placement Experience

3.5

From 3rd year you can sit for internship and ppo In 4th you can apply for placements. Google comes for ppo and internship. Most of the students get placed like almost 90 to 95 percent. My plan is to do job after getting the degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our fees was just increased this year by 12000 Campus placements are good you don't have to worry about that nit calicut placement cell is very good in giving you job opportunities and internships. Scholarship is available for students with low family income like below 5 lakh and below 1 lakh.

Campus Life

Annual fest is Ragam and is the biggest fest in south India it occurs in march.Technical fest is Tathva it occurs in November. All the reference books are available in library related to your course. Every sport is available and there are clubs for each sport. Debating clubs,Book clubs, Open source clubs like Foss and Gdsc are there.

Hostel Facilities

24/7 computer lab is available In the hostel night mess is also there till midnight. Common room is there for sports activity and watching TV and playing TT, carrom,chess etc. Hostels are quite affordable. Food quality is good both veg and non-veg food is available in every mess There are separate veg only mess also available.

Hostel Fee: INR 66000 per year

Admission

Admission process is good. Jee mains is the entrance exam you have to give If you live in India for foreign students DASA is required to get admission into NIT Calicut. Admission process is just as any other NIT and no improvement is needed. For jee mains you can check the NTA website for application form ,application fees and application dates.

Placement Experience:

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Placement Experience:

As of what i spoke to the seniors they said that AI students got better placements compared to Core students and the average package is around 9LPA for CSE branches students and 7LPA overall for all the branches and there is CIR foundation classes where they teach us how to improve our communication skills and How to create a resume right from first year itself according to seniors it is very helpfull

An aspiring first year student’s review

Placement Experience:

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. Life at NITC by Vimosh Kumar

I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
