Life at IIT kharagpur

IIT kharagpur is still running with the very old ciriculla, as i am a 1st year ug i still font know about the core...but in 1st year you find many subjects which are no way related to your department...like i hand courses like science of living systems, engineering drawing, etc..whic are ni way related to ece.Faculty ..yeah they are well experienced and have a very good subject knowledge...but they teach so fast..leearning happens mostly outside the classroom..i.e your own.Term exams just came in a flash and in the first year generally they dont fail anyone...so it is not that difficult to pass...but securing a good cgpa is very very difficult..than what you secure when you go to core department

As i am a first year undergraduate at present I don't know much about all these internship oppuamd roles that they offer etc...but yeah!!...they offer internships from companies not only nation wife but also internationally

During the 7th semester the students will be eligible for placements. 98 percent of the students gor placed somewhere or the other.Highest package secured so far was 3.48cr per annum and the average package is 9lakhs. My plans after the degree is to write IES exam.

Generally the fee is 154000 per semester and it continues till the end. You also get a scholarship named MCM if your family income is leas than 6 lakhs per annum.If you have some other reservations like SC/ST you also get a consession.

Life at campus is so chill. You find lot of freedom there. There are many clubs (A-Z) and it conducts many fests also like in January you would have spring fest and kshitij and during winter vacation you would be having inter iit and shaurya is also one of the biggest sports meet held . When it comes to the library and availability of books etc...kharagpur has one of the largest libraries in the world...so there is no shortage for books ...etc...

For the 1st years the rooms are excellent. It feels like you are staying in some hotel room. They provide you cupboards and also an attached bathroom, you also have a mini kitchen..etc..the food at the hostel is nit so good...but alternatively you have many canteens and hotels within the campus!!

I have joined the institute through my JEE Advanced rank. Application forms and all are available in the official site of jee advanced. Throught reservation I've got a seat in a better department than i would have got in open catogery. I feel the admission process for IITs' is so complex and even a small mistake while filling jossa preferences can flip the coin and you may become nowhere
