Remarks

Overall to summarize, i personally find gargi as my best experience to nuture me and make me what i am today. There are lots of amazing experiences to share. Gargi has been one such valuable experience for me, reason being it was my first sole decision for my career that i took and today i am proud of the choice i made. My college has provided me with many opportunities to learn more ways of improving myself both academically and non-academically. I still realize there was lot more to learn there, which i missed. But still, had gargi not been a part of my experience, i would have regretted.

Entrance Preview

Admission to gargi college which is one of the best girls college in Delhi university was based on cut offs. I scored good in 12th standard which allowed me to make my entry to this college. There was no entrance exam, neither any interview process. In Choosing of course there was no search done . It was completely a blindly followed choice being inspired by one of my teacher. This will sound funny that i was into a course for which i had little interest but i successfully carried out it considering the utmost importance of it in my future career plans.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Despite being a difficult course, my interest was developed, all due to the practical experience we had. As you know learning becomes easy with the practical knowledge and that what proved appropriate for me. Also, there were research initiative taken up by the Institute. I was fortunate to have taken regular classes as i always wanted to know more about the subject on which i showed zero interest Nd that what proved good for me.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, the college do offered the internship to add value to our degrees, we had summer internship programs and even international internship programms were there. I had joined one such society AISEC which offered us summer internship and it was fun. No stipend was there.

Placement Experience

4

There was no placements as such, in bsc degree at that time. So to get a desirable job we need to go on further with the Msc. However, College considered recruitment a top priority. Therefore to attract talented students, top companies were welcomed and also it boosted up the academic reputation of the college.

College Events

5

There was college fest every year. In our time, we had one of our fest where Mohit chauhan, singer was invited and you can imagine our level of excitement. Organization was very well, excellent to show cast our talents.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees was completely affordable ranging from 8000-12000 per annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

College offered certain scholarship programms but for the post grad studies and not for the graduation ones. Therefore, i didn't avail any. I dont know about loans.

Campus Life

4.5

Our college was very good in terms of extracurriculars. All students are allowed to participate in events related to their fields or any other also. So, according to me we got ample opportunities to explore our inner talents.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Gargi didn't offered us the hostels, and neither i required one. But other girls who were coming from outskirts of Delhi or other states were residing in PGs and they had benefits of like independent living and privacy too but it was even tough economically.

Alumni/Alumna

No according to my knowledge,we had no alumini meetings. .it would hav been mre fun nd knowledgable if it had offered us ,neither i hav witnessed any participation of the alumini in college development programms .

Exam Structure

From our time only the semester system started, so obviously there was a sudden stress outbreak but i feel that was important to handle too and value the process that the university takes up for our evaluation. It was neither a chill culture not a tiring one. Planning make things go perfectly.

Faculty

5

The faculty we had has provided us with necessary tools to enhance my skills more. They were versatile and allowed us thinkng more critically. This was all due to Interaction we shared. I wish i could speak to my teachers thanking them for the knowledge they offered

Course Curriculum Overview:

The core subjects are very well divided, the main problem arises with the other additional subjects which requires efforts as same as the other subject even though they don't hold any importance as such. Maybe reducing other subject or making them practical based instead of theory based would be helpful.

The placements of my college are moderate as the average package is ?6.5 lakhs and the highest package is around ?23.02 lakhs . Many prestigious companies like delloite, accenture have held various placement sessions in DRC and it's overall a good to place for companies to get high skilled students. The placement cell is very active too which makes it possible for our college to get many internships and placements opportunities.

The Fest organised by this college is Priyadarshini and the annual fest Rajnigandha. The Fest are not great in comparison to other du college and are not that much celebrated. There are many different kinds books present in library like literature,Hindi, Chemistry, Maths, zoology, biology, botany, political science, History Geography the books are only alloted till 12pm and only for 15 days after that you will be charged if book is not returned Sports and Extracurricular are good but classrooms are not that great most projectors in classrooms don't work . There are many good societies in college like jamini the art society and others but joining has caused students to leave their classes which affects them academically

The placements cell Avenues regarding the placement offers coming to the college. Major companies of the job market come to the campus for recruitment like KPMG, deloitte, zepto, EY, ZS Associates and many more. The students from the final year itself gets eligible for placements. Around 30-40% students get the palcements through the placement drive. The highest package during the last palcement season was around 18 to 20LPA, while the average was 7 to 8LPA. I will certainly go for higher studies in operational research.
