Great Atmosphere and very good exposure

Being in the main area of the city beautiful(Chandigarh), PEC has made its reputation and stands out as a brand in the nation. Produces good engineers every year. Overall my experience has been amazing till now.

PEC takes its admissions in BE Program through JEE(Mains) . I got a good rank in JEE(Mains) and got admission into Electronics and Communication Engineering in this college. No Interview process is there. My interest in Electronics made me choose this course.

Course Curriculum is very good. We have classes as well as labs, tutorials and workshops for every subject. Much focus on practical learning. PEC takes research initiatives. PEC is handling the 'Smart City Project' under the government to make Chandigarh a smart city and many other research opportunities. Every stream has a lot of project work.

College provides a good opportunity and platform by providing internships. Every year a lot of companies visit the campus to select students for internship programs. According to reviews from my seniors, the internships provided are very good. Big companies select good students for internships and pay them a good amount. Average stipend amount is around Rs. 20,000 per month.

Placement is what PEC is known for. Placement wise PEC is one of the best college in North India. Almost 100% (to be precis 96%) students get placed. Around 100 companies visit the campus for annual recruitment and internships. Amazon, Microsoft, Maruti, Royal Enfield and many giant companies visit the campus every year. The highest package offered is 33 LPA by Arcesium. The Averafe package is around 7LPA.

There are a number of events from every club and society in the college. The main attraction is PECFEST. This the main techno-cultural fest in the college. The event is widespread in the whole of North India. One of the best fests in North India and one must attend this if they are in vicinity. Average footfall is around 20,000-30,000 during the fest. The college also contribute a good portion towards the fest while rest money is generated through marketing. The event is very well organised.

PEC being a government college is one of the most affordable technological institutes in India. Semester fee is about Rs. 60,000. Yearly is around Rs. 1,20,000. This includes Academics and Other Facilities. Hostel Fees is about Rs.60,000 yearly. Makes it to 2 lac per year for a hosteler.

College provides a good number as well as amount of scholarships for best students as well as for the economically weaker sections. I did not avail any as I wasn't eligible for any. College does not help in getting any kind of loan. There are in total 5 scholarship programs in PEC.

The college is more inclined towards extracurricular activities rather than on academics. There are a lot of opportunities towards the cultural side. The college is known for cultural activities and sports.

I am an Hosteler. There are four boys hostel and two girls hostel in PEC University Of Technology. Hostel rooms are good. You won't get a homely feeling but the rooms are okay to spend 4-6 years of your life. During first semester you get double sharing rooms. After that you have single rooms. Their is no PG facility from college. Hostel fees is approximately Rs. 55000/- per year be it single or sharing. Food quality is good and their is a variety of dishes available.

Alumni network is very good. College does have a proper student alumni interaction. There are several sessions. Alumni contribute a lot for overall development of the college.

There are only two exams in one semester. Exams count 60-70% towards your final grade. So exams are much important here in this institute. Rest 20-30% depend on tutorials and labs.

Teachers holding Masters and Doctorate degrees are involved in teaching. Interaction between students and teachers is good. You get to learn a lot more than just the subject. Teachers take care of each and every student. Labs and tutorials help a lot in practical development of students. Use of modern technologies has improved teaching standard a lot.
