My review of PEC Chandigarh

For improvement in teaching methods, they can go digital, like using smartboards, or use more practical teaching methods, or maybe just improve the way of teaching simply. Teaching methods here really need upgrades, mostly students here have to rely on youtube when exams come near.

The college students get offered a number of good internship opportunities, or so they say. I myself have not yet got an internship, it's my first semester. But from what I know its mostly good. Many good companies visit the campus for interns and placements.

I don't exactly remember how much i paid for sem-1 but i had 6 courses in sem-1, i'll be paying an amount of 94k for my sem-2 which would have 5-6 courses. I am from open-other state category so no relief was given for fee structure. People with BPL or SC/ST quota did get opportunity for scholarships for maintaining a cgpa above 4

PEC was known for its renowned PECFEST but even that was majorly scratched off from this session by the director in name of academics. They pull back funds and permissions. The FEST this year was terrible. Students were excited for this fest but it didn't deliver because of the college board.

Our hostel has provided us a really small room and that too is shared by 2 students. The hostels are not ever clean, meal quality is really bad, its basically survival here. The hostel fees given for accommodation clearly didn't go to the place it should've.

I applied for NIT KKR electrical, but couldn't make it because of the rank. I applied for other colleges like IIIT Bhopal and Una but didn't choose them because of them being really remote or not at par with PEC. PEC among all my choices seemed best. My college takes admission through JEE Mains rank.

Faculty to student relationship depends on each faculty but its mostly okayish. The exam structure here seems better than most private colleges, we have one midsem, one endsem, small subjective quizzes, viva, lab evaluations in each sem.

Hostel for 1st yr boys closes off at 9 and for girls it closes of at 7:30. Girls hostel has an indoor gym. Boys have a gym near the 1st yr hostel. The gym js not really good, has mostly old machines. The college library is really good, peaceful. There are a fes spots to hangout near the college and the locality is really safe to roam around at night.
