- Campus academic environment is excellent there. You can't keep yourself out indulging in campus activities. Atmosphere are friendly and i assure you as being a Hindu student i never felt downgraded by our Muslim fellow.
- If you are a non-Muslim student here than it is good place for you to learn a lot about Islamic culture.
- For non-Muslim student, Jamia makes you perfectly secular. Shayari and sufi music, you can find at every nook and corner of jamia. Ramadan month are full of evening feast. And can celebrate also holi, dewali and other festivities.
Dislikes
- What can disappoint you is that some students tradition religious mindset. They can't think beyond of that which ultimately leave no room for healthy debate.

- 1 months long exam schedule for ug courses.
Course Curriculum Overview
For me the reason was very simple to choose this course because I always wanted to do mass media. And in government institutions who offer degrees in mass media at very minimal tuition fee, Jamia reputation is best in India. Since whole course has been degined in Hindi language and come under Hindi department so you could find faculty member confusion here in initial days of your class but I assure you after approximately 3 year of experience there , faculties are good and experienced. Department have 20 professor with 500 students. As far as qualification of faculty member is concerned, 60% of faculty have average 20 year of experience of teaching mass media students. Some have done work in media field and then joined the academics. You have to do regular class and attend workshop on recent media trends organised by department, where experts of different media giants share their views. It is not very surprising if you find one day Ravish Kumar or Sanket uppdhyaya in your workshop.
Placement Experience
After completing 5th sem. Students become eligible for placement. For this particular course, you can expect placement in mainstream Hindi media news channel like NEWS 18, ABP NEWS, ZEE, INDIA NEWS, IPAC and other PR firms or political consultants. Average annual package is 4,50000 - 6,00000. But again placement is not for everyone, it totally depends on your skillset. Approximately 50% student gets campus placement. After getting degree students are free to visit media institutions for employment and with some effort, you can get one suitable for you. One interesting thing is the jamia makes your public reach excellent so you earn here social capital also which helps a lot in getting a job.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have previously said for me it was it's minimal fee that pushed to join jamia. Don't worry about fees, it is lowest of the low amongst all University that offer this course, this too with excellent NAAC ranking ! You can avail University scholarship for top 4 rankers students in your class every year, based on your performance in semester exams. Apart from this there are many external scholarships that non profit organisation run because of University's minority status. And i assure you if you are really needy and eligible you can get one easily. As far as job is concerned in campus with too stipend, jamai has a poor environment. But due to nature of this course, you can find very easily Media internship or job with stipend. But it totally depends on your efforts.
Campus Life
Hindi department organises every year it's departmental annual fest in month of February or March depending on academic schedule. In fact month of February and March are such that you can fly like butterfly anywhere in campus, getting different views and vibes due to fests organised by different departments. Campus looks like a garden of many known-unknown flowers with spring vibes at on its pick. Unfortunately you could not find digital classroom in Hindi department however other departments have it. But department has a well equipped media studio to do practice works. University has their own sports complex with indoor and outdoor game amenities. You can think of it's excellent sports facilities by the fact that state level cricket matches are organised in the University stadium. University has it's own achievers museum in different fields of sports in campus. Jamia proudly own dehli's most modern library with digital facility.
Hostel Facilities
Since I have not applied for the hostel accommodation but can give details about it as many of my friends live in Jamia Hostel. There are two hostel campus one for girls & one for boys with 7 hall of residence. Nearly Every girl gets a hostel who apply but for boys it is little bit tough. After addmission registration process gets start for hostel...it takes consideration of 6-7 criteria in which they allocate some points and on the basis of total points what you obtain, merit list is made. Greater the point means greater chance to get a hostel. there is some problem regarding meal quality. Sometimes student protest for the deteriorated quality meals. Hostel occupancy is 3 student in a room. And hostel and mess price is really affordable. In 3500-4500 you can wrap up your monthly spending. In hostel room , each occupants get one bed, one study table, a drawer and a ceiling fan. That's it. For outside of hostel rented accommodation, you can easily get a Room.
Admission
Every 12th grade passed student with a minimum 50% Marks in any background (science, commerce&arts) are eligible for this particular course. If you fall in reserved category or Muslim minority in this case/kashmiri migrant, a minimum 45% marks is required. Student wants to fill up addmission form for this course can find application form on Jamia official website. Application form go live on any day of March & April depending on previous year acedemic calender of University. Actually Application fee for this course slightly changes every year but in 2024 you could find it around 600 for one program. I am a Hindu student. since Jamia is a minority institution so i was a general candidate. If you are a Muslim or kashmiri migrant than you have an extra edge in whole addmission process because approximately 55% ( 50% for Muslim minority & 5% for Kashmiri migrant ) seats are reserved for the said category. And obviously 45% unreserved seat, non-Muslims and Muslim both equally grab it.
