I like the campus. Mainly im into sports. And the nirvana park is very peaceful here.
We have a synthetic track here. It is fun to go to jogging here.
Sky walk is good with friends. We are having a good timepass.

Dislikes

I have nothing to dislike here. Everything is fine.
Just a little homesick. But it is manageable.
I came from far that's why i feel a little homesick.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course is very good for now and the faculty is perfect. Everyone is higher educated. The teachers teavh everything perfectly. Can understand easily by just attending classes. Exams were tough but i cleared all my exams.

The college offers good internship opportunities to students. Various good companies like Oracle, Gameskraft, Bain and Company, Advantage Club, TATA 1 Mg, Byjus, Incedo, etc have offered internship opportunities to the students with a good stipend

Top companies like Amazon, Apple, DE Shaw, Arcesium, Media.Net, Paytm, Rapid, Oyo, Gameskraft, Synopsys, VMware, Cisco, Oracle, and MakeMyTrip visit the college to hire students. Overall, the placement ratio is good and high, and many final year students got selected for paid internships with a sufficient stipend.i will try for placement at high cost....

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee structure is a bit thinking process. But ill try for the scholarship. Scholarship is based on jee rank which is merit scholarship. And im trying for merit cum means which comes by income . Income should be less than 10lpa.

Campus Life

Thapar University is one of the premier institute of technical education in India. Pros. 1. Infrastructure is very good. 2. Placement are one of best in India only behind premier IITs. 3. Various Societies for overall student development. 4. Faculty are friendly and we'll expert in their domain. 5. One of the best hostels you will find anywhere in India. Cons. 1. The quality of students enrolling is degrading now as semester fees is skyrocketing.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel is very good. Very neat. Im impressed with hostel room. My expectations were low but after coming here i was shocked. Mess fee is fina hostel fee is fine. Mess food is very tasty. My hostel is E.

Admission

Eligibility was from mains it was 98 percentile i think For boards it was above 97 . I got with my boards. I got 98.50in boards. I was recommended from my cousin who studies here. He got a very good placement. I am happy to get a seat here. Everything here is perfect.

A Vibrant Campus with good learning and great opportunities

class size can be large , it helps every child to interact
academic work is quite high , the schedule may feel hectic especially during examination

75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
