Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course coz it provides an excellent placement and has various opportunities. The faculty-student ratio is not that good but decent. Faculties are highly qualified and some are among the world's top 2 percent scientists. Term exams are according to the academic calendar. You need to study to pass exams.

Internships Opportunities

Companies provide internships to 3rd year students. Students get good internships such as in Atlassian. Top branch students are more exposed to internships and also get good stipends in internships. students rises upto 2 lac per month

Placement Experience

from 7th sem students are eligible for placements. Many core companies and top MNCs come to campus such as Adobe, Atlassian, intel, Nvidia, l and t. highest package was 80 lpa and avg was 16 lpa. 97% of students got placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost to study is as normal engineering colleges. you will spend 8-9 lacs in 4 years. You can get full tuition fee remission if you are sc/st or your family income is under 1 lac. Many scholarships are provided by various organisations.

Campus Life

Culfest is a technical fest held from March to May. Tech Fest is ojass held in Jan. The library is good, you can find books of your choice. Classrooms are fully AC equipped with projectors. The sports facilities are quite good. Clubs are LDS, Phocus, QUnite, Revanta, Invicta, beatbreakers, aahwan, Sankalp etc

Hostel Facilities

Room is provided with fan and cupboard and lan port, socket etc. Meal is good and you can survive better. Hostel is alloted during admission. Hostel is affortdable, you can find courts inside hostl=el campus and also common room contains indoor games, tv etc.

Hostel Fee: INR 30000 per year

Admission

NIT Jamshedpur takes admission through JEE. IT is linked with JOSAA for admissions. JEE application is released in Nov- Dec every year. Being an NIT, the cutoff is high for this institute. For top branches of CSE, the ECE cutoff is around 15k to 18k for general candidates. For reserved categories, you can get CSE or ECE even at 40k -50k. The admission process was of one day. It included document verification, registration and hostel allocation.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

According to my perspective or point of view students initiate preparing for placement cells in 3rd year ( 5th semester). The highest package of our college is 14 LPA And average package is 3.4 LPA. Approx 72 %students got placed in different different companies like tcs, wipro, accenture etc.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . You have to score at least 75% in class 12th board to get admission ....Read More

I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
