What Students Say

Likes

Students are friendly and interactive and fun to be around.
The events that are held are not so bad after all.
With some pestering students are taken on excursions.

Dislikes

No clubs are there at all and library is not well equipped.
No proper union to stand as a front for students.
No internship or placement opportunities.

Faculty is good however short in number. The professors who retire are not replaced by new processors. The faculty-student ratio would be around 1:7 for the students of one semester. The teachers are very well qualified. Some of them have food-teaching skills while others simply don't. University always delays the exams and there is constant change and postponement of dates.

Class Size: 31Course Fees: INR 1300 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Considering it is a government college, the fee structure is quite affordable. There are no placement or job opportunities here. No internship opportunity is given. Financial assistance is not available for students.

Campus Life

College did conduct an annual fest called Dhun around the month of December. However, post-covid there has been no such event. Campus Life could exist if students put in some effort but college doesn't provide many opportunities. There are celebrations of certain events and cultural competitions but these are very minimal.

Admission

Due to covid, there was no entrance exam and admission was credit based. Eligibility criteria were a minimum of 45% marks in 10tha and 12th as far as I remember. Application forms, application dates, and fees are all available on the college website. Reservation benefits are available for those who can avail of them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was well-structured, and each semester, there were projects and presentations that also helped to test our knowledge. I got influenced as the curriculum provides us with financial economics, political economics, and Applied mathematics. The level of the exams was decent, related to the course. They could improve in teaching more practical knowledge and projects related to that, instead of only learning in a theoretical way.

Placement Experience:

Placements and job oppurtinities are less since this is an undergraduate college offwering honours degree. Though there is a placement and career councelling cell that looks over this matter. Placements are offered only in a few subjects, such as industrial chemisrty and computer science. The rate of placements are very high and come with high packages. Though I am not interested in placements, but I have started taking preparations for compititive exams. Such preparations are very supported here, rather than jobs and placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is impressive as it includes all the importaint subjects of several entrace exams. On extra the college provides internships for real world problem solving. In case of Computer Science students are working at NIC, CU, IIEST, NIT Patna, IISC and many other as interns. Exam happend in evey 2.5 month March (mid sem) May(end sem) September(mid sem), December(end sem) and the difficulty level of the exam is modarate.

College is really close to railway station (2.2 km from Bidhannagar Junction), Low cost of fees, Good academics, Spacious, Green, Quiet environment ideal for studying.
