The placement statistics is great. Package is enough better than most of the other NITs
Class rooms are good, fully air-conditioned and we'll maintained

Dislikes

Hostel facility of girls is poor. Food is also average.

Course Curriculum Overview

The faculties here are too much cooperative and helpful, I got enough help from them always. The educational culture is too much friendly here. Professors are highly qualified and the mid and end-semester exams are taken in a proper time with appropriate environment.

Internships Opportunities

Amazon, Google, Adobe, Microsoft, Atlassian, Qualcomm - For SDE-related profile. Reliance, Texas Instruments, NXP, Tata Steel etc for core companies. There are too many opportunities here, and students are enough capable to grab that.

Placement Experience

The placement here is great. This year's highest package is 84lpa. Core branches also have a great placement. Mostly all the students get placed. I have decided to go for MBA after BTech. The average package is 18lpa.

Fees and Financial Aid

As both of my parents are government employees so the fees are ok for me, even enough affordable. There is a loan policy and fee reduction for economically weaker students. The method of these is so smooth and easy to avail.

Campus Life

There are so many clubs and societies here. We actually have a more happening college life for these clubs. The interaction with others, especially with seniors, juniors, and other branch mates increases through club activities. Annual fest is Culfest and techfest is Ojass.

Hostel Facilities

For girls there is triple sharing room. I think girls should have atleast double sharing room or single in their third yr onwards as boys have the faculties of single room paying the same fees to college. Food is average.

Hostel Fee: INR 32000 per year

Admission

I got this college by Jee exam and after the counselling process, the admission was too much smooth. The professors and all the educational staffs were too much helpful throughout. I cleared the cut-off of jee and my percentile was 96.5 percentile.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
