Likes

The hostels are double seating and we will get single seater hostel in second year.
The campus is very clean and there is a lot of greenery.
There are various competitions with lots of cash prizes.

Dislikes

The campus is open so outsiders enter somtimes.
The campus is little small so we cannot explore our college.
The course structure is very difficult to cope up with

Course Curriculum Overview

The Faculty members are very supportive and knowledgeable. They are very friendly and clarify all our doubts. They take extra classes and resolve our doubts. They give special attention to weak students. The exams are taken on time.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for my course is 100000 every year. The fee structure is not very high. Any middle-class student can afford the fees. Apart from that there are several scholarships and fee remission which can benefit economically weak students. EWS students benefit a lot.

Campus Life

Life at the campus is very enjoyable. I enjoy it a lot as there are many options to explore and many places to visit. There are several areas where we can relax and chill out with our friends. There are several eating options available. There are annual fests, and tech fests held on campus. Almost all books are available in the library.

Admission

I got into NIT Jamshedpur by completing JEE Mains, through jossa counselling I got it through jossa counselling, and then I visited the campus after counselling for admission. I got my admission done in NIT Jamshedpur. It does not come in top NITs but is well known for its placement, especially in core branches like Civil Engineering, Metallurgical, and Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering. Also, all branches have a placement percentage of more than 90%. This year a new branch of Engineering and Computational Mechanics has been good.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

According to my perspective or point of view students initiate preparing for placement cells in 3rd year ( 5th semester). The highest package of our college is 14 LPA And average package is 3.4 LPA. Approx 72 %students got placed in different different companies like tcs, wipro, accenture etc.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
