Being in the field of education its not good to categories as good or bad. But yes the college and the faculty will provide there best. . College life is seriously fun. If you are in a good college, surrounded by good classmates, have amazing group of friends, have helpful teachers and seniors, then what else you want. Life will be good and rest all it depends on you. How do you respond to things.

Entrance Preview

I have recently completed my BSc Hons Zoology from this college. I landed into this college through merit in class 12 standard. I was clearing the cut off so i got admission into SGTB KHALSA COLLEGE. It was just a personal interview, you may say a short talk between you and the concerned teacher. I had interest in Biology and it was one of my major subject in class 12. I wanted to be linked to this stream and all it deals is about life, whether it be of animals, plants or we humans. Its is interesting to study about something that is living, we can see and when it is about humans then it is much interesting. As we get to know that how it is happening in our body, how everything is so linked.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course BSc hons zoology was nice. It was interesting but when it comes to diversity it is a bit boring. Since all learning work. The practicals were really good. We were given a hand on every experiment. Everything was taught in detail and the experiments were individually performed by students under the guidance of respective teachers.

Internships Opportunities

It was like teachers would take up a project and students worked under them. Time duration and stipend varied. I didn't do any but what i could say it is good to do one.

Placement Experience

2.5

For zoology there were no placements at all. But yes for other courses companies do visit college and students are placed.

College Events

4

College fest and various Departmental fest are organized. They are not wow but worth attending.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee was quite higher than other colleges of Delhi university. It was around Rs 20,000 annually. This excludes the examination fee which was Rs1500. figures may vary, slight up down.

Hostel Facilities

4

I wasn't a hosteler. But how much i know the hostel experiences of students were good. It was three room sharing. Food was nice.

Exam Structure

Sometimes it was hectic not always. It was quite fun. Labs both morning and noon session were nice and chill.

Faculty

4

The zoology faculty is well qualified. All the teachers whether permanent or adhocs are helpful. They all are interactive and once you get familiar, it will be like ZOOLOGY FAMILY. Everything is taught in detail. Teachers try to give their best and make you understand then and there itself. Presentations, notes everything is provided. Full online and offline support is provided.

Placement Experience:

Placements usually start after the second semester. A variety of companies like Byjus, Namo India, Urban Calp, ICICI, DE Shaw, Oberoi groups, ABP news, Thomas Reuters, Microsoft, etc. visit the campus every year. More than 200 offers for jobs are made every year and a lot more for internships. Packages for jobs offered vary from 2,00,000-12,00,000 rupees. The campus placement cell informs the students of the jobs offered and the packages. About 10 students out of 50 take up the placement rest from the chemistry honours course goes for higher studies for the preparation of civil services.

College overall management is very good, helpful and supportive. All queries and concern are addressed on priority basis. All announcement and activities communicated timely. College staffs, professors and management are really very helpful and supportive. My experience was very good however i would request admin to expand and communicate their sports level program so that maximum students can participate, grow and their hidden talent can come out by these opportunities.

Remarks:

The college management surprisingly, truth be told, is very quick in their work. You would normally expect things to take their usual bureaucratic/government time to work but it really doesn't here. Apart from the minor hiccups one can get when one is made to run between departments to get some stuff sorted, it is overall really good. The 'running here and there' too in my opinion is important as it prepares us for the outside world. The world isn't all good and with rainbows and unicorns flying around. A whole lot of people exist and we need to learn to cooperate, tackle, take things in our stride and learn to just let minor things go. College prepares you for that.
