Course Curriculum Overview
I was clear that I want to pursue a career in Computer Science. So, I was searching for the best college for the same. That time I got to know that Keshav Mahavidyalaya is the second-best college in terms of Computer Science courses after Hansraj held the first position. The student-faculty ratio is good enough. There is no lack of faculty in the college. All the faculty members are highly educated and cooperative. The teaching method is good as regular practical classes and lectures are taken by faculty. They teach on a regular basis and always recap what was done in the previous class before starting the new topic. If needed, they use projectors to explain the practical parts of the course. Exams are held semester-wise according to the scheduled datesheet which is shared as a tentative datesheet prior to the students so that they can prepare well. Moreover, it is not that difficult to pass the exam as the pattern remains the same as the previous years.
Placement Experience
As per my knowledge, I haven't seen any placements or any company visits so far. But according to the placement cells companies like Wipro, oxane, RSM, Incedo, and more visit college campuses. 50+ offers are made and the average package is about 5.24 lakhs per annum. I have no hopes of any placement or company visit to my college. My plan after getting a degree is to pursue a career in animation.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees remain the same throughout the course. They provide reservation benefits in the fee structure. I pay, 25194 rupees yearly as a fee for my course. The college is fully government funded. There are no scholarship tests, financial assistance other than reservation benefits, and no jobs on campus.
Campus Life
The annual cultural fest "Tryst" and tech fest "Blitzkrieg" are held every year during the fest season at Delhi University, that is, February to April. The library has a good stock of books. Most books are available. Classrooms are of different sizes some are very small whereas some are large enough. Some seem really conjusted while some are good. Projectors are installed in mostly all classrooms. There are no official sports teams in the college. Also, for extracurricular activities, it depends on cultural societies. They organize events. There are Instagram accounts and WhatsApp groups by the political party ABVP in college to take up the student's problems. That unit is active and keeps on organizing events.
Admission
For BSc.(Hons) Computer Science's minimum requirement was to have a minimum of 50% in the top 4 subjects. The procedure was online. The online admission portal was their du. sol. where we registered our profile and then according to the cut-off list student has to apply to the particular college he/she is eligible for. It was mandatory to apply only to one college during the phase of a particular cut-off list. Like, if the student has applied for admission to a particular college in cut-off list-1, then, he/she can't apply to the same college later once rejected. If a student has already taken admitted to some college and wants to now apply to some other college then, the student needs to withdraw the admission from the previous one and then, apply for the other college. Once the application was accepted by the college, a deadline was given to pay the fees and confirm admission.
