Course Curriculum Overview

Because of interest in liberal Arts, I chose this course. Faculty Student ratio is 1:20 .Most of the Faculties are highly qualified and have great teaching techniques. The exam happens when the semester ends. It's easy to pass.

Class Size: 45Course Fees: INR 7200 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are very low If we compare with other universities or colleges. The total Fees for BA Hons. Sociology is 21000 only. If you get good marks in the semester exams you also get Financial assistance and Scholarship. You can avail of all scholarships listed on National Scholarship Portal. Like Post Matric Scholarship.

Campus Life

Karvan e Fikr is the annual fest of the Department of Sociology JMI. There is a big library named Zakir Hussain Library in JMI where you can find all kinds of Books. The University has two reading Halls where more than 10 Thousand Students can study at a time. Big Classroom with Wi-Fi access. Annual sports happen every year where you can participate. There are all types of clubs like Drama Clubs and Acting Clubs and all others are present in our university.

Admission

The eligibility is to qualify for the Entrance Exam. Application forms and all other information regarding the course are available on the official website of Jamia Millia Islamia i.e. jmi.ac.in. it's a minority University so seats are reserved for Muslims and STs and SCs. No, I don't want to see any Improvement in the admission Process.

Truth About Hidden IPCW (DU)

Placement Experience:

Since i am 2nd year myself, hearing from seniors, seeing placement cell activities and reading reports, placement at ipcw are decent but far from perfect. The placement drive is not as huge or reliable as some commerce Acc. to the nirf report, for ug courses out of 1204 eligible students 118 got placed, which is roughly 9-10, for pg course, out of 100 eligible students only 6 got placed. Median package for UG was 6.20 lakhs per annum, and for pg is 6.7 lakhs per annum. In earlier years (2022-23) , median UG package was higher. The highest package went to 23 lakhs per annum which was quite impressive. It was from DE Show and co., Wipro, Capgeminie etc. there are regular recruiters like DE. Shaw abd co.,Wipro, Capegemini, Godrej properties, Sirion Labs etc. What i feel personaly as an eco hons. student unless i build extra i cant really expect placement. Masters and competetive exams are next option

The main reason of rejecting other two colleges and joining Jamia was that Jamia is Central University.
