I like the faculty of the university.. They are very attentive toward each and every student.
I like the teaching-learning process of the university, which is very appreciating.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course of personal interest. The student-faculty ratio is good. The teachers are highly qualified and their way of teaching is worthy for every student studying there. Term exams are taken timely and students are guided in the answering pattern beforehand. The overall experience of studying there is very good.

Class Size: 30Course Fees: INR 15000 per year

Internships Opportunities

The university invites different NGOs and other organizations to come to offer internships to the students. Students can work as social workers in different NGOs and can be given certificates on the basis of it. This gives them the best start to their Career.

Placement Experience

3.5

Students become eligible for internships from 3rd semester onwards. However, the campus placement is given in the last semester. The deserving students get placements. I am planning to pursue Ph.D. after this.

Fees and Financial Aid

This is a private university, however, the fee structure is quite less as compared to other colleges and universities. But it never fails to provide the necessities that are required by a responsible and recognized institution. A 100% Scholarship is given to each and every student based on their grades.

Campus Life

Playgrounds, libraries, Labs, and various classrooms are present according to the requirement of the students. Classrooms are well equipped with boards, tables, chairs, and ventilation. Annual fest, Diwali fest, Holi Utsav, Sports, and other important functions are held inside the university campus with student involvement. University has a Facebook page that keeps the students updated about all the activities.

Admission

Admission based on marks. There was an entrance exam that I cleared. Great place and no application fee. I did not have any reservation and the form can be found on the college website itself. It's a 2 years long course.

Placement Experience:

Most of the placements that took place at least for the literature departments ended up with people joining educational institutes and NGOs. Very few joined corporate enterprises like Accenture. But it does provide almost a 5 LPA, if well placed. It is academically rigorous, therefore academics are weighed more than industry.

The Pros and Cons of Joining Jadavpur University Masters of Arts in Economics

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for applying for internships after the 3rd semester, and students can apply for placements only after 4th semester. Companies like Ericsson, Ernst and Young, JPMG makes visits our department for mostly analyst roles for economic and fundamental trading decisions. The highest offer made was 45LPA while the average is 7.5LPA. The median pakage is 8LPA. Almost 90% students secure placements after completing their degree since the Training and placement cell is pretty proactive in securing good company visits. I plan for investing and analyst roles in banking companies. I would sit for placements hoping for the same.

Insights of SNU

There are a few private colleges present in Kolkata which provides biotechnology but in my opinion the labs of those colleges are not as well furnished as ours. There curriculum is little different than ours. I didn't apply to any other colleges apart from Snu for biotechnology I sat for an online exam .And I cleared the test. Once you get a call you visit the college campus meet the faculty and the faculty may take a type of interview session The addmission process is smooth. But sometimes the staff members of admission makes blunder. My classes were about to start from 17 August, but they called me during July( because she didn't know that biotechnology does not fall under para- medical and made a mistake and for her mistake I had to suffer as I'm not a resident of Kolkata)...Read More
