Time restriction at some gates for entry and exit especially for PhDs
Hostel fees is huge which made me reluctant to stay inside the campus. Otherwise, campus is beautiful.
Sometimes student teacher interaction is not transparent. More transparency is required. PhDs should work with freedom not under the pressure for better quality of research

I love chemistry since my school time. It's practically based on interesting and colorful subjects. I can say chemistry is full of Mistry! The faculty-student ratio is 1:20 . They are efficient. My supervisor is knowledgeable and brilliant as a teacher and guide. There are two minor exams and one major exam for all the courses. Ph.D. coursework also follows the same.

Internships Opportunities

BCG, Google, Amazon etc companies provide placements to many students with a decent amount of packages. Even a Post-doctoral fellow going from IIT Delhi earns a good 4 lakhs per month. Industrial internships as well as research internships have been encouraged here a lot. Not only that Start-Up ideas are also promoted here through various events and workshops.

For B.Tech and M.Tech there are plenty amount of options they have. They can choose packages from 12 LPA to crores even. As I'm doing Ph.D. from IIT what I can say is Post - a doctoral research career is good to go if we are opting to be lecturers. Otherwise, industries are also preferred by Chemists who synthesize compounds.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are maximum for B.Tech and Management studies. Though it's worth it as the students are going to be placed with a high salary package. On the other hand, as a PhD fellow, I use to get a fellowship from DST-INSPIRE which seems quite decent to me

Campus Life

Our annual fest is Rendezvous and our tech fest is TRYST. They have been conducted in the month of March. Our library is enriched with too many books and journals. Classrooms are huge, spacious, and have a sufficient sitting place. I'm very happy to share that in spite of having a hectic schedule for my Ph.D. I'm enjoying my social life here as well. I'm a panel member of the Dramatics Club - Ankahi. A member of the Music club - Mridang. I use to participate in events like By the Chai, Inter - IIT Cultural Meet, Inter - Rajpal event, Pre-RDV stage play, etc. I think Ph.D. people also require relaxation. Hence, they should participate in such kinda events.

Admission

I have taken admitted to Ph.D. in the Department of Chemistry. The application form was available online. The admission procedure occurs twice a year. NET, GATE, DST-INSPIRE, or Industry-sponsored people may apply for Ph.D. Not only that any job holder can also apply for a part-time Ph.D. too.

Interview Experience

I appeared for interview as I came with individual fellowship from DST-INSPIRE. A panel of three members was interviewing me . Amongst them I have got selected by two of them according to my choices. One of them is my current supervisor. I'm happy to be in his group! What I can say is make sure that you have clear knowledge about the basics. Because, that's the only key to pass interviews and most of all be confident throughout:)

Placement Experience:

Ph.D. students didn't have that many job placement opportunities on campus. Usually, students have to apply for a postdoc for further studies. Otherwise, they apply here or there for other job options. Or students generally go for Assistant professor applications in different colleges.

The best college for my PhD

Admission:

The candidate has to have a minimum requirement of a masters degree in planning education or any other similar field of study. After applying for the college, I attended an entrance exam conducted by the college which was followed by a personal interview by the college officials.

Good curriculum and overall technical exposure is excellent

I decided to pursue a PhD in Physics. IIT-Delhi is rich in imparting knowledge and offers a wide infrastructural advantage. At IIT-Delhi clearing NET examination is mandatory after which interviews are conducted twice in a year (in May for July session and in Nov-Dec for January session). After the interview the shortlisted candidates are allowed to interact with their choice of supervisors and with the mutual consent of student and supervisor, one can join the Ph. D. course

Fulfilling experience at IITD.

Bachelors is required with 55% atleast. JAM score is required. Cut off for obc was 33 as far as I remember . The entrance test tests your quantitative and qualitative ability. All the details are given on the website of iit delhi or just typing JAM would do. JAM gives you the opportunity to do your msc economics from iits. Admission to IITD occurs through JEE Advanced; In which an individual had to first clear JEE Mains then ADV. They have to prepare for three subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics; concepts must be clear from the base level. As soon as the application form will be released; news will come in newspapers since it's a national-level exam or you can search on the Official Jee mains website. Application fees for Jee Mains in 2022: 650/- and for Jee ADV: 2800/-(not sure). Application dates will be released on the official website. To avail of reservation benefits you must have a category certificate that had been renewed within 6 months from counseling (FOR OBC-NCL). If from SC-ST, then can use any certificate. IIT Delhi's Inner Life- An Honest Review

The eligibility to fill the form is to first get selected for JEE ADV. and then for general category AIR should be less than 550. Rest you should be a non-medical student with a minimum of 75% in 12th board exams with Indian nationality. The application form is found on the JOSA website and then follow the rules. Lock the seat in the counselling process and then fill out some minimum fees first and then submit the full fees after the counselling is over. Also, there are a variety of documents to be submitted to get admission and then onboard the campus on a particular date. I feel the procedure is a bit complex and can be simplified if done correctly like getting the documents submitted at the start and then sending them automatically to the college selected by JOSA itself....Read More
