Thapar - The exhalarating campus

I choose the COE computer engineering course, as the placement ratio in cse branches is higher and with good packages. It is a big campus with more than 10,000 students and around 1500+ faculties. Faculty are well qualified but some of the teaching methods are still the boring old-fashioned way of teaching through ppts and everything. Exams are going on throughout in form of sessional, lab evals and semester exams

Many companies come for recruitment of interns inside the campus including Jp Morgan and co, Samsung, Delloit etc with good stipends. Students can also avail themselves of off-campus opportunities. Good projects and a good resume definitely help in getting a good internship

College campus placements have shown great results and have kept on increasing year by year. The average package for CSE packages is around 12 lakhs. With the highest on-campus placement being around 50 lakhs. Lots of companies visit our campus including Amazon, Microsoft, Accenture, samsung, Deloitte, jp morgan etc More the 95 per cent of students got placed in CSE branches. My plans are to get a successful high-earning package after the degree

Per year for a cse branch student, the fees of the semester are around 4.5 lakhs , if we include hostel and mess fees it becomes around 6 lakhs per year. Fees hike is there, every year by some per cent. It is quite an expensive college. Scholarships are given based on JEE percentile and on cgpa basis to students. Companies come for internships and everything inside the campus for recruitment

Campus life is good and events happen every semester in form of fests, hackathons, competitions etc. Some of the famous ones are Saturnalia, Thapar food festival, izhaar etc The library is the 7th most stunning in the world with a wide range of books and journals. Amenities in classroom halls are great. There is a lot of space for extracurricular activities for cricket, football, basketball, badminton etc. Many societies and clubs are there in the college including tech, non tech, dance, music drama and everything

Hostel facilities are good in newly made hostels. Wifi and laundry and other services are provided to us and we can complain in case of any problems. Meals are good on some days and not that great on a few. It includes many varieties example, shahi panner, dal tadka, chane, pav bhaji, chole bathure, saag, pasta etc. Registration process is simple and is done after u have gotten admission to college through an online email and portal process.

The admission process was online due to covid and the pandemic, we had to fill out the admission registration form which cost around 1200 rupees at that time, Eligibility normally is based on half-jee mains seats and half board result seats. Application forms can be found on the thapar.edu website and on the respective dates. No reservations are available but there is a Punjab reservation quota. I would like to improve the fees of the college and cut unnecessary expenses taken be the college
